I always liked their voice dictation because it's better than Samsungs or Googles while it's on device. It's super fast and puts in punctuation in, etc.

The keyboard on the other hand I never really liked for some reason which I can't even explain clearly. So for the keyboard I've been using https://github.com/HeliBorg/HeliBoard for ever, but it does not have sviping.

What I do is to have two things, a simple editor, I use helix for normal editing. And in a second terminal a docker container solution where I put opencode or claude in https://git.jeena.net/jeena/agent-container

We switched from Bit bucket to Gerrit internally and it was a steep learning curve for the des but it's fine.

At a customer we're implementing GitHub Actions and even on our Dev environment there are so many hickups with GitHub.

I've been using OpenCode until yesterday (with some plugin to let me use their model until they implemented what it seems very sophisticated detection to reject you).

It just has a sane workflow it's easy to use, doesn't bother you with 1000 questions if you allow this or that to run and generally it feels like the model is dumber and makes more mistakes since yesterday since I have to use claude code.

About 10 years ago i had HomeAssistant running and thacking my bluetooth devices. It does so per default by jus memorizing a mac adress an recording when it's visible and when not. No need for pairing or anythung. It also stores the custom name if available.

Anyway, the default dashboard also automatically generated a view when my neighbours "Katie's iPhone' was at home and when not, until I actively deleted it and the data it stored.

I use Tubular because of sponsorblock.

My Main Problem is To keep the bridges up to date. I just switched my phone number in WhatsApp and Signal and that lead to a huge ton of trouble for my bridges. After a month of fiddling with it, deleting things, updating, logging in and out of accounts and puppets, I still don't get any messages from signal into element. While it was working for years just fine it gives me the most trouble now that my dad is in the hospital in another country and I have to coordinate with my siblings a lot.

I never thought that the writing HTML is the hard part. Instead where my Sister struggled was to get a domain, get a server, deal with DNS pointing to that server. That shit is also omitted on posts like that one because it's done differently for each domain registrar and you need quite some knowledge in network stuff to be able to understand what you need to do.

I was afraid of trying any online models with opencode because per default it has full access to your computer. I also never want the AI to push code anywhere, I want to do it myself to keep this control, afterall it's easy just to nuke the local repo.

This is where I came up with this docker container for it and a alias which opens opencode in the docker container and mounts things, etc. I'm just afraid I missed some safety things, because I'm not good at it.

I'm not sure if it's abandon ware but I found a gist which attempted to get pictures from this Korean Kindergarten app for backup which we also use.

I tried it and it only half worked and you had to copy a cookie out of the browser which would expire after a couple of days.

I took it and extended it added a login with selenium or what it is called and now I can run it daily and get those pictures out and into my immich. Instance.

Then they are also not responsible enough to work at the office, you can't pay a nanny who sith with them and tells them to keep working 8 hours a day at the office anyway. Those people need to be let go because you can't trust them.

Bullshit. When I'm in the office most of my time is spent on making sure it looks like I'm working and obsessing about if someone is standing/sitting behind me and looking at my screen or not, because I'm in a panopticum. There is no time for deep work.

I have a migration background (at 11 years old from Poland to Germany) and that made so I would do a lot of spelling mistakes when writing, even though I could express myself fairly OK. Writing a blog was a way for me to get better at it, and I would encourage my readers to tell me when they found something odd.

Because I moved to Sweden just about a year later, I started a new blog https://jeena.net/something-new where I would write in English, because I thought then both the people from Germany (to a lesser extend) and the people I know in Sweden would be able to read my blog.

It was a good decision to switch to English (which back then I didn't speak fluently at all, but writing was ok), because 5 Years ago I again moved countries, now I'm in South Korea and am still blogging in English.

It definitely helped me to learn English, which now is my main language at work and at home.

What's missing from the launcher available on Linux? I've been using it for many years, but I have never used in on Windows.

I'm using MS Office for Work in the browser. But I just live with the shortcomings specifically in PowerPoint where I can't do connectors for example.

The Linux client is terrible.

But that is why I for work stuff use Chromium and I didn't really have issues with it. The things in this list:

System notifications - works with Chromium

System tray integration (badge support varies by desktop environment) - I don't have a system tray on Hyprland with waybar

Custom backgrounds & themes - ok, I never needed it but that is probably the only thing which is not working in Chromium

Screen sharing support - Always worked, as long as you allow it

Multiple account profiles - I'm doing that with different Chromium profiles, but yeah it kind of would be nice if it was possible in one window, so that seems also cool

But for those two features it seems it's more hassle to deal with a unofficial version.

I wish something like this could be a pre-hook which would pre-fill your commit message so that at least I could see a llm commit message instead of ust the Jira-ID because we only force that one. Most of my collegues at work just write the worst commit messages and I don't understand why. They spent so much time comming up with some solution and push it and then don't explain the thinking. I bought the Samsung SmartTag 2 to track the children, keys, etc. and connect them to HomeAssistant. Turns out Samsung actively blocks me from me being able to connect HA to their solution and the guy who was able to keep circumventing it and created a HA component which worked, gave up on it and archived the git repo.

Now only I who has a Samsung phone is able to use it, my wife and the children can't make them ring when they're looking for them and can't see on the map where the things might be.

Back in the 2007 or when it came out in Sweden I bought the iPhone and started developing for it. This was cool, new and exciting and it was fine as long as my company was paying the $100 fee every year. But then I switched jobs and worked at a company which produced mostly open source code. Suddenly I would have to pay $100 every year just to be able to put my own software on the phone ...

This is why I switched to Android, just for Google now to pull the rug from under my feet again ...
