So they were grabbing creds, but it's ok it was just a researcher? Pretty sure that's crossing the line and indicative of an actual compromise of employee credentials.

I understand that this sucks and their approach is terrible; However, if you don't have redundancy you should expect downtime. Things fail. Maintenance is a fact of life. Single points of failure are bad.

My project broke even after around 8 weeks and has done so since. We achieved this by using social media (without paying) in combination with a niche idea being displayed in said media.

Yea, I really feel that these principles are also valuable when you join. Take Snapchat or Vine, the popular social aspects (invites) cause the product to be successful based on growth hacking.
