I was told at university that every software system is a socio-technical system. Keeping a mental note of that fact has helped me throughout my career.

Wonderful news. I'm curious to see how the platform will change, hopefully for better, under his leadership. We need to find a way to foster free speech, and not only have Twitter as a liberal echo chamber.

Is this useful and relevant in the age of 5th generation airplanes and current weapon (e.g. missile) technology ? My intuition tells me not

I just wish they'd let users disable these extra attention grabbing features.

In WhatsApp for example, I just want to use it as a messaging app but I find myself getting drawn to statuses and wasting my time and attention there. I try to combat it by muting each individual status but it's not an effective strategy. It would be great to have the option to either disable it or only allow certain person.

Absolutely, I'm convinced people will keep on eating insects as wealth increases.

It's not out of constrain that people have them in their diet, but it's part of their culinary culture.

Of course, as people get wealthier, new habits form, they are able to afford previously unattainable food, and surely they're will a shift in the diet, but eating insects will not be eliminated.

I assume in the Western part of the world, you haven't been eating insects in normal times, but it's not the case in other regions.

In my country for instance, people eat termites, crickets, caterpillars/larvae of rynchophorus, Augosoma centurus among others.

They are a considerable source of nutriments such as proteins and lipids.
