you are correct. however this allows you to keep touch pad scrolling separate from mousewheel scrolling that will otherwise be tied together

Especially on my phone I have actively disabeled all spelling control, and successively suggestive typing.

writing a sentence while making it, I feel too much the words are being forced on me.

Where as it can be a great tool, I like to exercise my mind, the same reason I calculated all Matrix determinants with pen and paper when I started my engineering degree.

Some people may go to the gym and work out, but I am like to just squeese in exercise within my bicyle commute.

Sometimes there may be greater projects requiring more heavy tech, but for housekeeping I honestly dont mind harvesting the synergies of planning and doing things by myself.

I am pretty sure you can use the sports tracking functions in garmin without an account, if not, at least without connecting the watch to a phone. You just need to connect with usb to copy the activity file (.fit) which can be converted to tsv.

regarding the passive tracking I dont have a clue

I am a long time Garmin user, and sync to runalyze, when paired with a hear rate chest strap, they also calculate a breathing rate

If you are on an android phone what supports shelter[1], I can recommend installing "social" apps inside the shelter, and just sleep the apps when you don't use them.

In regards to windows, it feels to me as morphing into a solution for large corporations if disregarding the tabloid news while leaving private users just waiting for a friendly OS to be presented for them.

just a few days late to get me to use outlook ... just last friday I was installing outlook to open a .msg file with attachments, the hassle of having to setup an account was enough to uninstall again and asses if I trusted a pip package to extract it for me. Much respect to those open source developers.

OsmAnd worked great with multitouch on my old ms surface (fedora+waydroid) but now it crashes after a few seconds. I hope to get it up and running, it is amazing for offline maps on such a big screen.

My favorite mod is something simple as renumbering the windows/tabs to range starting at 1, rather than being zero indexed, this way they align with the digits on my keyboard.

I have been using mosh on and off, and actually appreciated that the software was so robust that it just works without frequent updates, and as far as I understand, most security is in ssh, so there would not really be a need for a new version.

It looks like Melinda (the inventor) have made them easier to obtain. back when I got one, 3D printed parts, magnets, and coating all came from different sources, but absolutely worth it, they are very unique and work well.
