I had a viceral "oh no, did I just install a virus" feeling when I visited that website, haha. I guess those memories die hard.

Related: At the beginning of my career I jumped around from startup to startup doing hardware, firmware, mobile, web dev, blockchain, Alexa/Google Home, and then started consulting. Then my client pool dried up during the pandemic. When I started at my current job 3 years ago, I decided I will stay put for a while and resist the urge to look for something "better". I wanted to take on more responsibility and learn what it is like to build software and maintain it for years to come. There are some valuable lessons I learned from doing that. The world runs on the backbone of people who are willing to stay put.

Can someone show me a modern OS that would install software by clicking a link?

I like the general idea. Does it require/use apple silicon? How does performance differ between non-apple vs apple silicon?

The claim that it is 100% on your device is the only reason I would choose to use this over cloud based models. However, with the announcement of “Apple AI” your claim is basically the same only you’re asking users to trust you over Apple.

Does it allow for higher speeds? I thought resistance increases the number of collisions the electrons make with the molecules in the material, heating up the material, does it actually change the "speed of electricity"? If anything, I would think it might actually increase, similar to water in a smaller pipe (see current formula below). Either way, I don't know if this (possible) change in speed is in any way significant when it comes to computing.

I think the point is that the CO2 levels were relatively stable until recently, so it doesn't need to start at 0.

In response to questions from KrebsOnSecurity, the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) said its team is aware of the malware abusing its blockchain, and is actively addressing the issue. The company said all addresses associated with the spread of the malware have been blacklisted, and that its technicians had developed a model to detect future smart contracts that use similar methods to host malicious scripts.

Earlier in the article it said

Due to the publicly accessible and unchangeable nature of the blockchain, code can be hosted ‘on-chain’ without the ability for a takedown... “So you get a free, untracked, and robust way to get your data (the malicious payload) without leaving traces,” Tal said.

It's not robust since you have to use an API (i.e. Binance API) to access the blockchain from a compromised website, then Binance can effectively "take it down" by blocking access via the API.

Now if they made the compromised website talk directly to the node on the blockchain network that would be different. Except, why not just host the malware on the website in the first place...

It seemed to me that if some clever thing came up like having the eagles fly the ring and drop it into Mt. Doom, the D.M. would say you can't do that even though it seems completely realistic in my opinion. I guess the primary objective was to create a long, interesting story and completing some objective was just secondary in order to meet the primary objective. I kinda prefer the former, and then just start another campaign...

I "played" D&D once with some people who play quite a bit, and was confused. Maybe I was expecting more clear rules of how to "win"? It seemed like it was more of a "choose you're own adventure" story rather than a game since the dungeon master is able to change the rules as you go and pretty much decide whether or not you are "successful" with whatever goals are established at the beginning. Is that accurate? In the end, it was a little frustrating and I decided I don't get it so I've never tried again.

Yep. You think you can get by without understanding what the Arduino libraries are doing under the hood, until you can't. Then you wasted all that time. I'm just as guilty as anyone spending just as much time avoiding learning something, than just taking the time to learn it.

That's not necessarily true. I have had success in the past with certain specific articles ranking high on google because there wasn't anything that went into that much detail about a more focused topic. E.g. AWS Cognito. In fact, you could probably document almost anything technical about AWS and get a lot of traffic since their documentation (or lack thereof) is so bad.
