I suppose if getting bombed by the US, no deal, and more oil exports from the US in history, means 'in control of the war'

All tests should be in-person. This is an easy problem to solve.
You will probably need to just use another account. But that might not be possible.
I had my Amazon seller account banned for 15 years. I couldn't sign up for another one without it getting banned too. It was all because a scammer decided they wanted to give me negative feedback and keep the item I sold them (in addition to my refund).
No amount of talking or emailing ever got me to a person I could talk to. These companies should be fined/prosecuted for this. As a seller, there should be rules around getting banned and ways to appeal.
Punk rock has always been right wing. Libraries are about as far from this as they can get.
The new hot thing, which is AI took it's place. Crowding out crypto.
How can deepseek 'lean center'? If you've ever asked it about real Chinese history, you know this isn't true.
"Talking to someone who reads 20–50 good books a year is nothing like talking to someone who hasn't read a book since school made them."
Most books are outdated, before they are released.
I read well over the amount text in 20-30 books from online content/non-books.
This idea is outdated and not a good indicator of someone who reads.
AI is just a tool. It's pretty obvious it's here to stay and if you don't start embracing it, you will be left behind.
Yawn. More rewriting of history to try to remove successful cultures.
For Gen Z, the new American Dream is for other people to make money and have the government take it and pay you to do nothing, in the form of UBI.
Developers gave their code out for free, but want to discriminate against people they don't like from using it in ways they dislike.
The 'spirit of free software' is bullshit. It's software authoritarianism disguised as a noble cause.
I tapped out if software engineering years ago. They boot out most people past 45, and at that age, it's very difficult to get hired by anyone if you are laid off.
AI also seems to be eating these jobs first.
I suppose that means I have the right to remotely pilfer Chinse banks, businesses, and institutions. After all, extradition laws don't really apply.
Why never an inquiry of Palistine? When this happens, instead of pointing fingers or more justification for murder, I just don't care.
We can't take blanket percentages as a reason for racial bias. Were they all equally qualified?
Too many of these studies only focus on percentages and the end result is unqualified candidates getting hired from minority groups at the expense of qualified ones.
It was never about the children. They are rolling this out, so online comments can be tracked to names and addresses.
It's to suppress free speech and arrest people that post anything against the government's narrative.
Many people have already been arrested in the UK for this. This is the next logical step.
It's kind of like replacing Wordpress. Sure, you can make a better alternative. But replacing an entrenched player that has been there for at least a decade will be almost impossible.
Huh? We have more free speech than ever online at this moment. The last regime colluded with the major social media companies to censor people they didn't like and it's also recently come to light that they attempted to get the Joe Rogan/Spotify deal nuked, all based on censoring speech they don't like.
The liberal government of the UK is moving toward complete online censorship with their bill to prevent children from going on social media sites. The reality is that they will now be able to identify and will arrest people for posting opinions they don't like. This has already been happening for the last couple of years and will now be even easier. This is exactly how it works in China.
If Democrats come into power again in the US, this will soon be coming to a computer near you.
This should be the #1 story on HN, but the tech community has been strangely silent on the subject....
I just wish the people claiming to be champions of free speech and rights will just admit that this all goes out the window when it applies to speech and people you don't like. It would make everything much easier.
They are 'overlooked' because many papers have falsified results or are outright wrong.
Over a decade ago, I was going to a tech group with a supposed security leader (that ended up getting a huge buyout from Cisco a few years ago).
A student wanted to create a project that bypassed the GF of China. He basically told him he was an idiot, it was impossible, and discouraged the student from even trying. This was a hacker (the security leader) at one point in his life, that claimed to support the freedom of speech and expression.
The actual reason he said this to the student is because he supports the government in China. Many other comments I heard after this proved to me that this is true. My guess is that his startup even received funding from the Chinese government.
It's really disappointing that tech leaders can publicly support murderous regimes like the Chinese government for decades with no blow back. They are far worse than Putin/the Russian government and have 100X the money and technology.
If he supported Russia, he would probably get cancelled and never be able to be involved in the tech industry again.
Incorrect. AI takes thought and creativity from previous humans and students can and will use it as a shortcut.
Is this written by AI?
I'm so glad the GDPR never took hold in the US. Little Karens getting companies fined millions of dollars over what amounts to nothing.
You can always not use their service. Plenty of alternatives out there.
I knew lots of people making good money doing gig work.
This ended when the Democrats decided that gig workers deserved full-time benefits and ridiculous wages.
It cut the overall workers by a very large amount (which was predicted by anyone that put a few minutes of thought into it) and all of the people I know can't make money anymore.
I find that the people complaining the most about billionaires, don't put much effort into help others.
You can always give away labor, in the form of volunteering.
If you want fulfillment, make your own side projects. Most companies will start requiring some form of LLM for development, and they don't really care how you get to the end goal.
They are bleeding money. Anything they do will cost more to the end user, not less.
The last fad was crypto and web3. Once AI hit the scene, it's pretty much dead now.
What I think is funny is that Steve Jobs also had very little technical knowledge and was just as much of an asshole, yet he's worshipped in the tech community. The only reason comments like yours are being made is because of Musk's politics. He was also loved in the Tech community, before supporting Trump.
Musk doesn't have to be a 'real engineer'. Most 'real engineers' would obsess over mundane details and rarely think about the bigger picture or making a profit.
Tax and steal. The california way.
When I was 12, I learned about open SMTP relays and how to spoof email this way. I once spoofed an email between two rivals on a community I was a part of and started a flame war.
Good times.
If they actually enforce this, 70%+ will be kicked out.
