Uber could have participated by changing the surge pricing to 20X, 100X or some similarly high number. That's not to say that they should have.

Trump received almost the exact same number of popular votes as Romney in '12, and McCain in '08. Once all the votes were counted, Clinton had the same vote total as Obama '12 [1]. The MSM needs some repair, but I'd say that repair should be moving away from the "both sides do it" and "two sides to every argument" mentality and delivering the truth. On issues like climate change, equal weight does not need to be given to the "it's a hoax" crowd.

Also people seem to care a LOT about immigration and preserving their culture. Instead of patronising these people it's time we tried to understand their concerns and try to assuage them.

Many of the people that care so much about immigration and preserving their culture are the grandchildren of immigrants. It's very much an attitude of "I got mine, you can go F yourself".

They may want to start their own version of Uber/Lyft or they may just be setting up a scenario in the future where Uber/Lyft would have to enter into a separate purchase agreement with Tesla with changes to warranty terms, roadside assistance terms, price, insurance, etc.

Taking some of the deliveries allows Amazon to threaten to take more (or all) of them and pressures UPS and FedEx into keeping down the rates they charge Amazon.

Derivatives Markets by Robert McDonald is a great textbook. I would not suggest reading it cover to cover, but it's a great reference for truly understanding bonds, options, etc.

I'd also recommend anything by Matt Taibbi, but only if reading about the shadiness of Wall Street interests you. His books are well written and fact checked, but definitely have a bias that you may not care for.

I agree. I should have referenced market cap to give a useful argument. My thinking may be wrong, but here's what I have:

1. TSLA is close to it's all time high. SCTY is well below it's all time high (Granted, I don't see it going back to $80+ anytime).

2. TSLA market cap (34.5B) is 70% that of Ford (49.3B) or GM (49.7B). I know Ford and GM are probably undervalued and there are many differences between them and Tesla, but this suggests to me that Tesla is overvalued.

3. Solar City market cap is 2.4 billion. Solar City has a market share in the US of 34% (approx). Solar City market cap compared to the rest of the industry makes sense.

4. The Solar Industry is here to stay. Solar City, as the US leader, is not going bankrupt (the Tesla board of directors agrees with me on this or they would not approve the deal). Investments would swing back to SCTY at some point pushing the stock to $40-$50 (or ~4-5 billion in market cap).

As a Solar City shareholder, I think I'm getting screwed. Solar City, at $26.70/share last Friday has a lot more upside than TSLA at ~$235. Hell, I lost almost 5% over the weekend due to where they priced this deal.

Same here. Digital lists are never reviewed. I carry one or two scrap envelopes in my back pocket (or a skinny notebook) at all times with a list of things to do. In the morning, when I transfer my wallet, keys, and envelopes to the pants that I'll be wearing, I check my list and see what needs doing.

The buyer dropped a hint about using it for illegal purposes, but I don't see how that's any concern of the seller.

I don't care for a thinner phone. Leave the analog headphone jack. My phone is usually in my pocket when using the headphone jack and the jack does a very good job of keeping the headphones connected. USB-C or lightning cables are much easier to knock out of the port thus interrupting my listening experience.

Lots of police stations now have "Safe Exchange" places either in the station or in the parking lot. Cameras in place and well lit.
