I have no idea if it's related, but sometime after viewing this webpage Chrome /Win11 went wacky. Major repaint issues on the app I'm developing- unable to click on many items, basically unusable. The effect only happened on the web page I'm developing, other pages were unaffected.

- cleared cache, no effect.

- reboot, no effect

- ran Virus check, nothing found

- checked for driver updates, nothing found

- uninstall chrome, and reinstall. Apparently fixed.

Again, this is correlation not causation, but beware!

Semi-related tangent: During the early 1990's I developed a star chart and ephemeris for the (momentarily) fashionable Windows Mobile platform called "Pocket Stars" that calculated one's geographical position from three or more sextant observations, mainly as backup for offshore sailors should their GPS system fail. For reasons I still can't fathom, a contractor for the Israeli military purchased many copies, apparently so their tanks and troops could remain oriented after all other electronic systems failed. My 15 minutes of Dr. Strangelove entanglement.

"I suppose the Xamarin guys need to eat but it's kind of disappointing they are not directly targeting iOS and Android".

Exactly! Clue #1: full Android emulator/debugger built into VS2015. Clue #2: Rosylyn and .NET native. Clue #3: Carving up .NET core into separate chunks for smaller deployments.

Maybe Xamarin was just a beta test for the real thing?
