They all use contenteditable for I/O only (no execCommand), and they all maintain their own internal document model.

What ton of bugs? Trix is used by thousands of people daily in Basecamp 3. I'd like to think it's pretty stable.

The new Basecamp uses wysihtml5 and we're quite happy with it!

The example Ruby code jammed into a narrow column like that doesn't do much do demonstrate how beautiful Ruby code can be.

Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this."
