Thanks for sharing I skipped this title and missed that scene.

You could check to see if one of his games has that position using https://fenfinder.com (site I built). Of course it's a long shot given the huge possibility-space of unique positions, but hey, one can hope :).
We actually moved to TripAdvisor a few months ago.
Predicting the future is really hard, and a lot can happen in 5 years. I would reframe the question to a more reasonable time-domain and talk about my personal and/or professional growth goals. If you don’t have any then this is worth spending some time thinking about. In my experience, if you don’t prioritize your time then someone else will, and they’ll likely have different goals than you.
Thanks for the comment. I don't know the answer but came here to ask this too. It seems really useful to be able to objectively measure the efficacy of noise cancellation across diverse products.
What were some of the key lessons or most impactful things?

As a follow up, what are the most useful methods for managing technical debt without incurring too high of a cost to team/product/project velocity?
Second Asana. I've been using it for years and it has really improved tremendously over that time. There are definitely still many things missing (most notably for me is the lack of advanced markup in comments/conversations)... but it works very well for cross-functional collaboration and longer-term project management.
I love this -- thank you for the tip. I'll start using this immediately :)
Hooray for FCM :)
Yeah this was such a PITA several years ago... To solve the problem we ended up building a small proxy in Perl for the express purpose of adding 2FA to Github Enterprise.
Anyone know of any extensions that automatically (and reliably) quash auto-play videos or automatically mute them?
Here's a link to the actual research paper that the article summarizes: https://adint.cs.washington.edu/ADINT.pdf
For those interested in learning more about Bell Labs I recommend you check out the book "The Idea Factory" (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11797471-the-idea-factor...).
It works with a tuner or antenna
Love tmuxp!
That's a good point. We actually recently starting using them for internal/dev resources. I'll definitely make a note of it for next year.
+1 for Terraforming Mars. I enjoy playing it solo as well as with a group. There is enough variety in the cards to keep it fresh and the difficulty ramps up quickly.
FWIW: This confused me as well
You'll typically see these come through USN (Ubuntu Security Notices) as they're available.
Please add 2013 to the title.
Here's a link to her personal blog: http://corot.top (it's mostly in French as far as I can tell)
On the flip side, there will now be lots of talented and creative people available to potentially work on more interesting projects.
Just curious: How many out there are yinzers? I knew there was a nice technology scene here but am surprised to see Pitt/CMU on HN several times over the past couple weeks.
For those of you, like me, who didn't know what "freebooting" is:
"the dubious practice where Business Pages and celebs can rip videos from elsewhere, repost the content on Facebook and grow their brands while robbing the content creators of views." (From the article)
Wow--thanks for the update. Buffering to memory before writing to disk is definitely a great feature (especially when operating out of AWS) and could be enough for us to switch to unilog.
Regarding the timestamps. We've actually gotten quite used to TAI64N--it's definitely not human parseable but it is extremely specific :) We end up just piping logs through tai64nlocal or converting it at the logstash stage.
Would be interested to hear from the devs about the actual reasons they chose to write unilog (https://github.com/stripe/unilog) instead of using multilog (which ships with Daemontools).
Agreed that multilog is arcane and weird but what are the actual problems with it that unilog solves?
The job postings they have in Pittsburgh are particularly illuminating: https://www.uber.com/jobs/list?keywords=&location=Pittsburgh...
