Each time I read a billionaire criticizing the current capitalistic system, that reminds me of Jacques Attali's argument on how Karl Marx was misunderstood with Socialism.

In a sense, the Soviet Union was destroying or interrupting the validity of Marx's thinking and the fall of the Berlin Wall is giving back a raison d’être to his work, because Marx was thinking of the world globally and the Soviet system was a nightmare that he did not forecast."

The English say "Yes, but..." or " I am afraid ..." but in fact they mean no...

So funny to read and so true. Moral of the story, best money to secure is the one from customers. Much more difficult to get but so rewarding and the types of answer we get from prospective customers does not exceed 3.

My co-founders and I really enjoyed the 10 week startup school. We're full time founders and have been working for the last three years on building MyAppConverter. I think you underestimate the global reach PH has achieved within such a short time across the five continents. Most startups everywhere - including mine - building their product has a key milestone - almost as a habit- to get it on PH and shout loud about that this is a significant milestone for their users and customers to know about.

I am grateful to PH and the team lead by Ryan because they helped MyAppConverter raise our profile despite we are not based in SV. I will always remember one day one early user who found us, used our product and put it directly on PH. Soon after that, we got a huge spike in our sign-up and platform usage and gave us global coverage.

Awesome idea this list. What an impressive (quantity and quality) - list of companies. Some of them are known to me as YC portfolio companies - because I buy from them or have heard of - but loads of them, I would not have guessed that they are YC funded.

My view is a SV only wake up call is not enough but a worldly one is needed. Look at how Europe is getting dismantled... Lack of thoughtful technology is not too blame only but failed political systems with their failed politicians who only think about serving themselves as opposed to serve others especially the next generations.

Amazing. These are all pictures taken in the UK. Pity there is no picture taken at a Fish&Chips with the then popular newspaper wrapper and then seeing the equivalent 40 years later.

We are in favour of Native. We are still in product market fit with our current product (native iOS to native Android online instant porting tool, www.myappconverter.com) but we are making good progress based on customers and user feedback. We are currently working to support auto-layout.

It remains to be confirmed that they have actually secured $250mil. Very unlikely, you close the business in less than 2 years after securing such amount. Sometimes, loads of startups think success means raising loads of money... hence announcing the news, thinking media will shine on them and then get more investment followers...

We’ve made some recent improvements to make the porting as easy and as simple as possible, our objective being to give an enhanced amazing user experience from using our platform. We’ve also making progress in completing all the iOS UI to Android UI mapping but the major feature on Xcode 8 such as auto-layout will be supported in November. he major improvement made in this release is the automatic apk generation so the user can visualise the UI part of the app in an Android device simulator.

In order to visualise the apk, make sure you turn-off for now auto-layout in the iOS submitted project.
