SEEKING FREELANCER - London or Remote

Looking for a back-end developer and full-stack developer to work on a sophisticated new back office payments system for a Payment Services Provider. You will be working closely with one particular customer and their key integration partners (banks, payment providers etc.), designing and implementing a complex back office system for a new payment gateway, including terminal allocation, merchant management, agreements and a double-entry payments ledger.

Approx 3 months position with possibility to extend.

Essential: Node.js, PostgreSQL, SQS and Microservices experience Bonus: Working with payments data and banking APIs

This release looks awesome. I remember when Flat first launched and I was really hoping to be able to use it as a replacement for Sibelius (which is the only reason I have to keep a Windows VirtualBox on my Ubuntu machine). In the early days it wasn't quite there yet and was missing some important features that I needed for arranging scores. I will definitely be giving it another try, the product has come a long way since then. Kudos to the team!

This post really underlines my own experience of trying to find an office space for a startup in London. There are so many sharks out there, and everyone tries to get you to sign a 3 year (or more!) lease. We might not be around in 6 months! But co-working spaces are sometimes just as bad, especially the ones which are basically just feeder funnels for landlords who want you to upgrade to one of their serviced offices / large units (looking at you, ClubWorkspace). I think what Spacious is doing is really cool therefore - and I'll definitely be trying out the service when our current office space expires at the end of March :)

I really love this - a really fun and interesting idea. It's the sort of thing I could imagine introducing to somebody with no real interest in "learning to code" and then watching them fall in love with it. A bit like picking up a foreign language in a really enjoyable way. Might show my mum later... :)
