When does family/friends announcements turn to spam? I know many marketing email providers are weary of writing to your entire address book of people who did not opt in.

Why doesn't a cooking channel count? The definition of an educational channel can be a little broader.

This sounds like a niche that is waiting to be filled, and it is kind of exciting. But you should take this with a grain of salt. The audience on HN is probably quite skewed in your favor, geeks and hustlers who are predisposed to using something like this. I remember LinkedIn for a long time was primarily used in the tech industry.

That said, I like the simple design of the page, and I think it has a fine balance of seriousness and youth. I am going to look at your internal pages, and will give you some more feedback.

Meta: I bet a decision like that took a lot of guts. Congrats, you are no longer at step 0.

It would be interesting to have a controlled study of how much where great entrepreneurs go matters. Perhaps it is a similar argument to the one that says a place like Stanford or Berkley are not great because of the actual schooling that goes on, but because of the kind of people it attracts. But I am not sure how you would design such a study.

The summaries are pretty nice though.

Likely in this case. I just wonder what position they started from...looking for evidence to support the particular hypotheses, or were they open minded about it...
