I'm saying that the article is correct, and also that I personally only want to do companies that fall into what he calls the fairness category.

The article does not say that 50/50 makes sense if and only if you bring equal things to the table. That's an unequal split argument in disguise.

Out of curiosity, do you want a larger stake because you want more money, more control, both, or for some other reason?

I wouldn't start a company with someone where the relationship wasn't based on fairness. If I don't trust my potential co-founders enough to share the company equally, they shouldn't be my co-founders.

The difference is that it's schema-less on the backend. It's using MySQL to store JSON (I assume), so schema changes happen at the code level, not at the database level. Like a NoSQL approach that uses MySQL as the backend.

I absolutely love seeing how Rails 3 is maturing. The fact that it seems to be truly Merb-flavored probably has something to do with that.

This isn't just "Rails can do what Django does" ... it's why it can, and how that could be used to do lots of other cool stuff.

Following the derail a little further...while you got my vote for the pedantipoint, the misuse of "beg the question" is so pervasive that I've given up. It means what people use it to mean, now. We probably need a new name for the logical fallacy, unless lumping it into circular reasoning is sufficient.

We use a combination of Tender for front-end support and Lighthouse for issue management. Lighthouse has nice integration with Tender and Github.

Stolen cards is a huge issue. I actually think being a smaller "Penn students and surrounding businesses" type of play would make it easier...there's less incentive for the online-only stolen card gangs to take over.
