I hope the author is reading this thread.
What struck me was this line: "Family time bores me because I could otherwise be doing amazing things".
I felt like this for a long time. I was in a long-term relationship with an amazing woman, yet I spent my free time working or thinking about all the "amazing" things I could have been working on. Up to the point where she left me.
Family time is the one thing you should never consider a bore or a chore.
Sublime team by default need to advertise Packages and just how much you can customize the thing. You'd be amazed just how powerful this thing can be - once you get the hang of it, the shortcuts and some basic packages.
My favorite ones are Zen Coding (now deprecared in favor of Emmet) and SublimeERB when working with ERB - the front-end dev in me cries of joy when using them :-)
Combine this with Crispy Forms on the user side and you get a good looking app in minutes!

This is a bit hard on the eyes so try it as anujkk (at) gmail (dot) com. Also, Gmail has good spam filters :)
However, OP says WP is over 3mb. Including any popular PHP framework means adding a lot of weight in the start (take CakePHP for example).
What I'm worried about is MS removing XNA support in WP8.

Why so much hate on Nokia?
It's a little know fact, but all telcos here in Croatia monotor and store all torrent traffic info of their customers. They have massive rooms with monotors dediated to showing which customer in which building is currently using torrents.
And all of this data is stored for once the Gov decides to "crack-down" on illegal file downloads, they will have massive amounts of evidence.
Regarding raw text editing, Notepad++ (on Windows) is vastly better than TM.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Microsoft isn't doing this to ban Ubuntu / Linux in general, but to prevent Android from spreading. With ICS being a great OS, many (tech) folks would simply dual-boot ICS on their WinRT devices.
It's not bloat that moved me away from FF, it's their lack of HTML5 video support on Mac, which makes it completely utterly useless.
I rather liked Aero and I never really found it to be cheesy. Compared to Win95 or XP it actually looked great! And this is what MS is about to do, go back to the "old" look without adding any value to it (and I have a hunch it won't be easier on the system resources too).
As the 37signals guys put it: "What happened to building million dollar companies? It's all about making a billion dollar companies these days". So, seriously. If my company made a million a year I'd be the happiest bloke in the world!
I'd say 80% of all projects were done within 24hrs (standard delivery time) while other projects were 40-page multy-style apps (mostly custom "CRM" solutions). Heck, I even had requests do make the markup IE6-only.
It's time we separate "full-stack" developers from "front-end" and "back-end" guys / gals. I've met some brilliant folks who write amazing Ruby but say they hate CSS or JS. Those are "back-end" guys. A "front-end" person will write CSS and HTML markup without a problem and will always make sure it's cross-browser compatible.
I've been coding front-end markup for 7 years now and I've never come across a IE-specific issue that took longer than 5 minutes to resolve, and 99% of the time my markup worked without any "hacks" at all. I'm talking about ~450 projects.
So my advice to all the startups calling "not supporting IE a feature" to outsource their markup to a company that will do it right. Remember, 90% of the world ISN'T using a Mac or a *nix flavor (I'm personally on a Mac) and many of them have no idea they can choose a different browser. Saying NO to someone just because they use a browser you don't like is like going around and bashing people based on their sexual preferences or religious beliefs. F-it, I'm still on Firefox, which is now far behind Chrome, will you ban me access in a year?
I keep telling startups, EDUCATE YOUR USERS. Put a banner and tell te to upgrade to IE9 or install Chrome Portable if they don't have the required permissions.

I have a special kind of hate for (custom skinned BS company versions of) Android, and back when my Galaxy S crashed and burned, CM was here to bring it back from the dead. While I don't own an Android at the moment, I'll definitely donate.

This! It would be great if Firefox could automatically log you into websites you already are registered on and have associated with your FF login.

Between coding OpenGL and jumping into web dev, I spent 2 years professionally working as a 3D artist. As a kid I worked a lot on video and audio editing, and as a front-end developer I've mastered Photoshop. I have the talent but need the money safety net before leaving everything behind and pursuing a "crazy" idea like this.
Games. More specifically: 3rd person RPG games for the iPad. Games are the reason I started programming, but somehow ended up being a web developer.
It's amazing to me that every single clone out there looks worse than the original.
Maybe they'll roll out a HUD like the next version of Ubuntu?
In my opinion this is exactly like SOPA, a corporation-sponsored bill. Why would any government care if you "pirate" a movie? There is no tax on cinemas, but you pay an tax + extra fees if you're buying blank CD/DVDs -- because they presume you're going to write ("burn") illegal content.
