Java is compile to bytecode which is then interpreted by a virtual machine, it's not compiled to native code, that's why you cannot distribute Java programs as executable like go.

It's been like this forever, the police have access to so called "information management system" directly to QQ and later Wechat. There is no other way to talk to people online, you are monitored in all channels. They have no choice, anyone that doesn't cooperate is blocked. There is no where they mentioned "replace nashorn", the main feature of nashorn is to interoperate with Java, V8 cannot do that. If you follow the development of Nashorn, they are working on ES6 features right now.

A concurrent map in my understanding, is a map that can be accessed concurrently without explicit synchronization, not each coroutine has a piece of it. Check java ConcurrentHashMap.

Regarding the lacking of generics problem, is there a way to get around it, there are always plenty of tools doing that, if the IDE can patch the syntax and support certain kind of prigma to generate the template code, then the problem is almost solved, not sure if it'll cover all cases like Java does though.

Jigsaw is not maven, nor gradle, the versioning problems should be solved by those tools. I'm getting sick of the multiple version dependency problem being brought up over and over again. That's one of the reason why OSGI is not widely adopted. You should watch some of the talks delivered by the jigsaw team.

Well, giving that the GBP against EUR rate is like 1:1.1 at the moment, even if you have 70k anual salary Berlin, it's much less than who paid 70K in Berin, considering the living cost. And 70K is very reasonable now with Senior title, not to mention manage positions.

Chinese developer working in a Berlin startup here. I agree the Berlin startups do hire a lot of foreingers (there is a report stating that 49% of employees are foreigners), and it drives the salary down, but I can say my salary is the same level as others developers, as developers has such a huge demand here that you can change jobs freely, unlike American H1B visa.

Also because the EU bluecard has a salary requirement, so they usually pays you the lower limit at least in order to get you here. That's the situation of my Mexican friend, he changed job as soon as he worked in the company for a year and get better paid.
