So many companies that legally required a server physically located in Canada are going to be running to AWS now, practically everyone touching health care, government, personal data, or even getting some level of government funding likely was obligated to keep things within Canadian borders.

Agreed, Ive run a few nodes on and off for years, and to date I still have one in the neatherlands running however I have never run an exit node, because I'm just too nervous of the legality around it.
As an Eastern / Atlantic Canadian, I have always herd it "24 of beer" never "24 beer"or more common people ignore the "beer" part, for example "I'm going to get a 24 for the weekend".

If I'm going to pick a new programming language I want to know a bit more than "easy" "c style" and "built in node" (that last bit is terrifying).
What about telling me about your compiler, or why you thought we needed another language and how this solves the problem?
I spent $150 each or something like that on my apple routers about 5 years ago, they both are still running strong but since technology has of course advanced so much in the past few years, I would spend that on a router with the hope it lasts the same time.
Since it is a full router I'm sure you can change it, but on a side note you can re-direct the chromecast DNS pretty easily too

Past 6 months I was learning Go, but I started looking into Rust yesterday and am tempted to give it some attention.
Very cool! I started something like this with a WordPress implementation a few years ago and never bothered to complete it, so cool to see somebody else with a similar idea and actually finished it!
I've been developing a Node site that is currently running on Heroku. This happened the first day after launch, and to say the least my blood pressure was through the roof all day. I was terrified if something went wrong, we would be dead in the water. I don't think I would deal with them again (if I had the chance).
I just installed apache on all my servers just to run http://www.linuxdash.com but I would add this along side it instantly! linxdash would give me my read-only password protected status that I can view from any browser, and Ajenti would give me my ssh / local interface for really managing things!
I would bet never. yes HTML5 is great for making responsive and mobile friendly sites and apps, and you can use it (with various tools) to compile a native app for a app store however, HTML5 will never be able to match with Objective C, or Java in terms of what can be done in a application.
tl;dr never 100%, their will always be room for real native language apps, but we will see the ratio shift more towards html5 for your basic apps and simple games year by year
I've been doing this for about a year or so now and its honestly the best solution for local development I've used in my career.
Recently I've started using Vagrant for more complex sites that require custom server software, or are based outside the traditional LAMP stack, but a Dnsmasq based setup on my mac is still my favorite for most sites.
I've never had a issue with tmux and vim. What are you talking about?
