Is there anything like a “Windows From Scratch”? like taking a full Windows installation and copying binaries and components to new machine one by one, mainly to understand how Windows is structured internally?

how about a bookmark and yield mechanism(in PL level maybe), theb process can continue slow forward process when switched back
I'm afraid not. this is based on interpreter written in JavaScript so you need source code. i think you probably want something based on strace
is it reasonable to have a keyword for tail-recusive return? basically it means I'm writing a tail recursive function and give me compile error if it occurs at non-tai-recursive positions
That's awesome!
I was thinking about a similar reverse-wordle clone, but focusing on mind-reading between friends. The core idea:
1. uploads your full wordle solution screenshot (with each guess) to the server. The server does an OCR and store it.
2. get shareable links from server, send to friends. Each friend gets a unique link
3. friends guess what you guessed.
4. you can see how well each friend guess

well done! i really wish more tasks can be done in browser.
did you compile some c++ library into wasm or js is enough to do the job?
there's a hidden feature I don't like at all. if you double click on the "white area" just inside the border, it goes into a " maximized" state where title bar and menus will disappear.
it's so easy to enter this mode by mistake and no obvious way to get back
edit: was wrong about the test price. It should be $38.99 / ea test.
could you explain what does "free-form languages" mean? wiki tells me C/C++ is "free form"
I will give Wezterm a try wheb tmux CC mode(show tmux panel as native window) support is done
it's not true. Han Chinese are clearly genetically distinguishable from Yamato Japanese and Koreans, and internally the different Han Chinese subgroups are genetically closer to each other than any of them are to Koreans and Japanese.
Gene doesn't lie
We should not make fun of log4j2 developers for the work they're not paid for, they made it in their spare time. it's a shame so many companys are using log4j2 but few(if not none) sponsor them. https://github.com/sponsors/rgoers
I've seen a lot posts saying condition system in common lisp is unmatched. is there similar thing in scheme?
I was trying to write some function similar to `make` but in vein. Maybe I need to open the compiler like the author did. make() takes a type as argument but you can't define such functions in go. And `make` itself is not a keyword, how does golang implement it? is it a special case?
joke aside. we know a language is Turing-incomplete if it has only ifs and bounded for loops. And if 90% programmers' tasks can be done using a Turing-incomplete language, is there any benifits we can get from this?
I think we will be stuck with JVM on top of k8s container on top of linux VM on top of kvm on top of linux forever
i will assume X=9
Case distinction does not happen in every language. I'm not sure if it's European-languages-specific.
is there any open design chasis? like a CAD file you can modify yourself? if you're living around shenzhen it's probably not expensive to find a manufacturer
Google doesn't use the go command or modules, and since there's no direct measurable benefit to Google, it's very difficult to make the case.
i'm curious. What exactly they don't use internally?
i though sicp is most most mentioned book on HN. but sicp doesn't look like a book name.
congrats! I'm curious how do you do you do the maintenance. For visalist, how do you keep the info up-to-date? For anexplorer, how do you test compatibility on different phones?
There're so many screenshots of GUIs. But there is a heavy path dependence on customer-facing GUI systems. A starting over on OS seems more likely to happen on cloud OS. In any case, the question is do we really need the existing OS abstractions if we implement everything in managed languages?

and NET?
will it requires my bank account password? I tried several accounting apps, all of them need me to type my bank password expicitly. I don't want to trust them
