Yea, it's just hard to come to terms with that. Ambition and success are drilled into us on a daily basis. It's hard to come to terms with maybe not fitting in and how that is okay.

I relate 100%. On work commitments I can usually get it done, or when the stakes are high enough that failing would burn me hard in some way or another.

Awful, maybe one way to deal with this is to just admit that's how it is with commitments and just don't do them. I often fear that leads to a life of dullness and regret tho. The alternative is a struggle until the end of our days.

I live in front of a bridge in Japan and every other weekend late at night I hear/see firetrucks and ambulances rushing to the river side.

I've never seen anyone jump but I know it's happening. Sometimes there are flowers near where the person jumped.

Whenever I cross the bridge and see someone standing by the edge I always wonder if they're there for that... I've never talked to anyone. I should.

I did a very primitive version of this for rendering shadows for my master thesis. It sucked because of my poor accuracy eye tracker (self built) and because my approach was very naive.

Participants perceived jumps in shadow quality much harsher than lower resolution shadows.

It saved a lot of memory though, that was nice.

Microsoft has a great paper on more general foveated rendering.

Niki was one of those greater than life characters, his outlook on life - especially after his famous accident - has always been an inspiration for me.

As an F1 fan, I will also miss his candid commentary on the F1 circus.

I live in Tokyo and wish I could see it through the eyes of someone new here again. I can see it in these videos, but when I walk through the city I'm too used to it and my brain drowns out all of these things.

This must feel a bit like a blow to the shieldbattery developers. I hope the community will continue using it despite this announcement.
