Exploring Kaggle and participating in ML competitions is an excellent way of getting hands on experience.

Just got accepted on my first job last month. Yet, last week, company (>500 ppl) already announced some small layoffs.

Do you always lurk for opportunities outside the current company (maybe some roles are more stable)? If so, how to explain in the interview that you're currently employed somewhere but concerned of their stability?

While I'm disappointed at the scientific merits of the paper, I'm glad it was posted here which invited discussion on this topic. Someone feeling frustrated with their job app right now might find a speculative answer here.

I think the low framerate adds a unique ambience, at least to me, watching the recorded videos. It gives time to appreciate the art style and generated features. It also feels like a time lapse of gradual changes. I could imagine it being annoying to look at in real time though.

I can see how pitch roll yaw would work, but I can't imagine how linear movements are made on the same joystick? Maybe up and down is push and pull but what about the other directions? Do you push the device itself?

I also think an epub reader in zotero would make it a complete library manager. I used Calibre just for reading epubs, so I want to ask how and why do you need to sync its metadata with zotero?

From a personal use case, the number of instructions available in TPUs are still limited and some workaround is needed when designing custom layers. Even if it's available in platforms like Colab or Kaggle, people still lean to GPUs as it is more versatile.

Generally, multiplayer (competitive) games are exciting as we get the adrenaline rush from out smarting our opponent. But there's always a point where you feel the repetitiveness and lack of purpose as you get to the average level but not enough dedication to compete with professional atheletes.

Great perspective. Most people (most likely not on HN's highly productive community) find it hard to stay focus following education materials.

Some content creators put soothing bg music, animations, funny jokes. Something to engage. It's an art, be creative of what you have.

Like everywhere in the world, it still depends on where you live. In capital cities, the working people sometimes live alone in their own/shared apartment, so cooking for yourself is less preferred since food stalls are affordable and almost everywhere.

But in small cities or villages, you usually live with your main family or even your big family, so it's cheaper to cook in large batches at home everyday.

I'd also confidently say (I'm Indonesian) that almost all house has a rice cooker, so you could count that as cooking right?
