I purchase Surface products now. I rarely see them using litigation like this anymore.

This is the kind of thing that made me decide to no longer purchase Apple products.

I swear I've seen someone put a very similar comment on another F35 article, time to scrub HN as a sanity check.

Apple claiming high quality standards for their hardware doesn't feel right; When I can't trust buying a laptop from them, in fear that it was won't "just work" for the next six months.

If I am remembering correctly, secure enclave has already been compromised. It was mentioned in an article about development iPhones for sale on the black market. So physical access to the device means all of that is already accessible.

Behaves as expected on both my XPS and SB.

Recently updated my nephews One Plus 3 from 2016. The software updates are even tested on the old hardware. You can also send any of their previous phones in for repair, the repair costs are listed online and actually reasonable.

My boss recently have me six of her previous MacBooks that Apple deemed unrepairable, stating liquid damage on all of them. Upon further inspection only one had liquid damage, two had unresponsive touchpads, one non functioning keyboard, one a shattered screen, and a screen that was peeling excessively. I was astonished at the disrespect they have for their own customers.

I have a Surface Book and after having the flexibility of having a work/drawing/gaming device in one device makes everything else seem incredibly useless.

I'm 26 and since I purchased a Surface Book, my iPad has been gathering dust. The convenience of having both available in one package has been great.

The convertible laptop market has had this for a while now. I for one just pull the screen off of my surface book whenever I am in need of a reading device.

I find it's not the terminology people are offended by anymore, but the premise that you are labeling them as something. Change the terminology to something else and they will still be offended. IMO, it's very similar to being offended for the sake of being offended.

The last two claims of the article are deceptive in my opinion. Starting Apple "could" fix the flex cable, and has "addressed" the keyboard issue. Apple technically "could" , but will they? Also even though they have addressed the keyboard problem, they have not actually fixed it yet.

Don't the Google Pixel phones already do this?

I can only imagine Apple selling cars like they currently do their hardware. They ship a product that had multiple design defects. Then deny the claims or blame it on the users, until the users start suing them. Having people beta test your phones is one thing. But in no way do I trust a vehicle made by Apple on the roads.

Interestingly enough I just installed an ad blocker on the parents Windows 10 machine and I haven't had a support call since.

I have had the Surface Book 1 since launch and the hinge still work like the day I bought it. Come to think of it I haven't heard any complaints about the hinge at all.

I can't imagine many people use the maps features in DDG. Switching over to Apple maps isn't going to help, considering that everyone I know in New England stops using Apple maps after about the fifth attempt. Absolutely everyone has an iPhone yet I have no idea how Apple Maps looks like at this point.

I used Google voice a handful of times every day when I was on Android. Now that I'm on iOS I have Siri disabled. It's infuriating that Apple supply sub part services, and don't let you choose something else as a default replacement.
