If you have been reading the news about Windows 11 then I will enlighten you -- they view the Windows 11 consumer business as a cost center that must be mitigated.

As such, all manner of monetization has been approved and it will continued to be approved without regard for user experience.

This article obviates that this is not an LG problem, it is a Microsoft problem.

Also, don't fool yourself if you think this won't come to the Linux world.

I have absolutely zero sympathy for Western model providers.

Bring on the Chinese token-dumping onslaught.

As contradictory as it sounds, they (Anthropic) are probably trying to dance the fine line where its public models can write secure code but cannot exploit insecure code.

The birth rate correlates inversely with female earnings growth and correspondingly with male earnings growth; or, more to the point, declining birth rates correlates with the advancement of feminism (including birth rates approaching and then reaching zero.)

This is an observation and not a judgement. Take what you will with this information.

They make perfect sense, here is a short explanation: the origin country of said immigrants was unpleasant specifically because of the people there (eg: rapes, murders, criminality, etc), and if you import the people from there then your country will similarly become unpleasant (eg: more rapes, more murders, more criminality, etc.)

The civilizing process occurred in Sweden with Swedish people and it has been observed that a similar civilizing process is not occurring in the same country (Sweden) with different people (MENA immigrants) even over N number of generations.

Ergo: to make Sweden more pleasant, uncivilized immigrants must leave by crook or hook.

It is preferable for me that you provide your own home for them to live in instead of the community's.

It is preferable for me that you provide your own money for them to live on instead of the community's.

Your small and personal crusade is not mine and there is a majority of voters that share this sentiment.

Hello, I am from a company whose IT leadership that saw this silliness 3 months ago.

Yes, all developer-focused AI subscriptions have been cancelled, and only AI features tacked onto existing subscriptions are part of the AI strategy (eg: Jira+AI, Confluence+AI, Analytics suite du jour+AI, Microsoft Copilot Pro (SHUDDER), etc etc etc.)

Yes, it is virtually impossible to get any additional spending approved.

Yes, there is no more Claude, there is no more Codex, it is all gone now. The AI hype occurs only in company-wide emails about commitment to modernization (with AI), reorganization (with AI), and consolidation (with AI), where no actual strategy is proposed other than what the management consultants advise (with a caveat that there is no budget for anything other than AI features that are tacked onto existing subscriptions at no additional cost.)

The most interesting part is that there is no direct line between someone's accidental death and a chatbot giving life-threatening advice.

Imagine one of the models that has "accidental-deaths-via-bad-advice" just slightly turned up, with the model-provider's intent being to kill 5% more people per year.

It is May 2026, there is no difference between AI and non-AI bills.

Most (if not all) major enterprises in the US have gone through at least one round of org-wide subscription renewals (eg: Atlassian product packs, Microsoft product packs, etc) where 1) price increases were mandatory, 2) AI features could not be opted out of, and 3) AI feature usage was strongly encouraged from C-suite to client-facing biz staff to telephone agent support staff.

I repeat, we are passed the point where AI bills and non-AI bills can be differentiated. We are all paying for these features driven by tokens whether we like it or not, whether the cost-benefit analysis makes sense, and whether they are even being used.

And we are all passing the costs onto everyone lower on the totem pole, from insurance groups to bank groups to national grocery chains to consultant conglomerates to minimum wage front-line staff to below-minimum-wage gig workers.

And this is why there are layoffs, every price increase from the top down causes further price increases to cascade down.

Opus 4.6 is no longer available and Opus 4.7 chews through monthly limits with reckless abandon. The value-add of GH Copilot is basically gone (at least for individuals on the Pro or Pro+ plans.)

How does a state survive if refugees/immigrants are imported en masse and then the state becomes so dysfunctional to such a degree that its male citizens must be conscripted to fight and die for it? Surely this is a recipe for disaster.

I would sooner die for my family and my country but I wouldn't lift a finger to save the lives of refugees/immigrants.

* Product folks over-promise

* Engineers are consulted for estimates to facilitate long-term planning

* Middle management slashes those estimates in half due to pathological myopia

* Executives enforce musical chairs to assert their authority

* Consultants muck everything up while collecting enormous payouts

And yet the business cycle keeps cycling.
