The entire article is moot, because the story of qwerty keyboards being layed out that way is a myth. Nothing more. People can type in an astonishing speed on normal layouts.

Ffs! The probe doesn't run windows 98! The development environment was based on 98
Does anyone still believe Apple has a real interest in privacy?
Well I guess we have to invoke a strong copyright, that protects every piece of code, so that no one can steal any of it in any way. And then you'll have your death of open source. It's code, there shouldn't be any copyright to it.
In a few hours some suck-up on medium will write a "and here's why this is a good thing" article
Why????
Jobs was a fucking monster, but people got brainwashed to love him.
Building mobile web apps back in the day was much harder than today.
"If you want to watch porn, buy an Android" - Steve Jobs.
Apple's success lies in forcing customers to stay and do as they're told. Come hell or high water.
We'll because Apple is a way of life. A religion. Religions aren't bad, are they?
Apple is way too powerful. Not that Facebook is any better, but Facebook is not the gatekeeper for millions of peoples lives. When Apple boots you as a customer, you most likely will lose everything about your digital life.
If you lose your Facebook account, it's annoying but recoverable.
Apple has control over your phone, your passwords, your photos, your music, your emails, your credit cards/payment methods. And you can backup nothing of it in a usable way. Without a working Apple account any iPhone is as good as a brick.
What kind of washing or baiting is this called?
With Apple it's "do as you're told", not "do as you like".
Don't trust benchmarks. They're all manipulated by the hardware companies
We'll the blog isn't even willing to make this readable on mobile. Why should one read the ramblings of such a backwards person
Phew. Wait til you hear what Apple does with open source...
Because people are still living in the 90s and even the best developers just love to gobble up Apple's propaganda bullshit.
We've been there for years.
He's a grifter
Let's hope K9-Mail gets a more attractive UI. It always felt more clunky than it needed to be.
Look at me, give me VC money, or at least clout, for my pipe dream!
Now do it for iOS.
With Apple it's "do as you're told", not "do as you like".
Also the German liberal party FDP and the conservative CDU intentionally let the solar industry die. They rather subsidized the coal industry, which was nearly dead and had a tenth of the jobs compared to the then booming German solar industry. There was a political motif behind the death of German solar.
That's certainly a nice way to track people
Display Link is alrightish for light office work or coding. But not much else.
And the author of the article uses a valid argument to betray women to go back to being a wife with no space to express themselves.
What the article is missing, was a huge month-long campaign by Germany's biggest right-wingish tabloid Bild. They ensured in every way that Street View became a political issue. They told people that burglars will rob them, because they can look into their homes at any time. Google tried to combat the campaign with full size ads in Bild explaining the falsehoods. It didn't help. Opportunistic conservative politicians immediately jumped on the issue. Google had to secede and Street View never really came. A side note: Bilds owner is the Axel Springer SE. The new owner of Politico. Axel Springer is notoriously conservative to right-wing. They are also big buddies with Apple. Go figure. In my option the issue with Street View was never Germany's history or public concerns. It was astroturfing by an influential media conglomerate that wanted to make up an issue for the dead season. And maybe cuddle up to their longtime partner in Cupertino.
Well it's clCringely.
