The date ranges they show are 2040-2060. Mortgages are typically 30years. If you buy a house this year you'll be right in the middle of this outcome when your mortgage is paid off and at an age where you'll be looking at retirement.

I'm imagining it being much harder to sell a house in an area with many web bulb days and resulting in a cratering real estate market in those areas most affected.

How long until climate change starts driving real estateprices and also where people decide to start a career or family?

The USG does pretty much everything it can to prop up home prices as well, possibly as a counter argument to the above question. Will that trend continue when it becomes overwhelmingly difficult to live/farm in those areas?

Maybe it's a difference in location, that quote was all stuff myself and my shitty friends did growing up, and most other people I went to school with. Also in a large midwest city.

It's interesting to read these bad hot takes on why while plugging your ears

His public anti-china stance is just a show.

This is confirmed by John Bolton (I guess if you believe what he wrote in his book that the President attempted in court to block).

Trump “turned the conversation to the coming U.S. presidential election, alluding to China’s economic capability and pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win. He stressed the importance of farmers and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome.”

"Bullshit Jobs" had a profound change on my outlook in the tech industry. Perhaps it was because I was on the heels of leaving Amazon at the time I read it, but it changed my mindset on what I should be working towards in life.

Sad day

From someone who participates in this I would disagree. Bodybuilding at the highest level isn't really pushing any new boundaries. It's pretty well known 'how much' you can take (Dallas McCarver being a good example of that), and the compounds being taken aren't cutting edge or novel.

It's Novolog, Chinese HGH (because holy fuck is HGH expensive), several grams of Test and a rotating cycle of various compounds depending on which part of prep you're at, (ie wet compounds when you're putting on weight and dry compounds when you're cutting and in show prep to summarize roughly). There isn't really anything going on that isn't covered by the r/steroids wiki.

Perhaps Olympic level athletes are a better target, because bodybuilders aren't using any novel compounds, they buy what Chinese markets have available for purchase to synthesize.

Kinda, same with college tuition.

If you made university free for everyone the Reserves would take a hit on enlistment, same with active duty but to a lesser extent. I'm a vet and those things were huge in making my choice to join, lots of family and friends, fellow service members have echoed the same.

The military is largely downsizing though in warm body count so it might not matter much anymore.

So far in the news (that I consume) I only see countries being agressive towards Chinese software companies.

I can't imagine this goes on and continues escalating long before China reacts strongly.

What is China's response going to look like? I feel uneasy that their response is going to light the fire even more.

I don't think it's not possible, but I don't believe it can be as effective as in person.

Online you have the option to click block/mute/ignore and move on. So if you are trying to convince someone, a specific person to change their point of view, it will be much harder to reach them.

However thinking about this, I'm surprised there aren't any activist groups who patrol around online and focus on individuals to try and persuade them to change. Broad messages are much less effective than 1:1 conversations.

However that also borders on or crosses the line of harassment, depending on view point.

Some strong Chinese xenophobia in this thread. This place is getting straight up awful towards Chinese.

Cheerleading a racist president who shouts "China flu" and latching onto this flimsy executive order because you finally get the warm fuzzy feeling of fucking over a company started by a Chinese person is straight up fucked.

The USG doesn't respect speech rights of it's citizens either so idk where this grandstanding keeps coming from that we're still the champion of free speech when every night police beat and pepper spray people for exercising those rights.

Other people in that thread pointed out the OP didn't state why they sold their vehicle, but it shouldn't really be a surprise that a high end Audi lost lots of value in the first year. Take a look at BMW 7 series if you want to see a cliff dive.

That said, used car market has been booming during covid. Sales people commenting in r/cars have said inventories are actually really low on used cars and it's driving the prices way up right now, however that doesn't mean all makes and models will rise with the tide.

Others have also pointed out that too many ML engineers and researchers rush into problems and end up with useless results also hinges on this. These people have to deliver something because their job depends on it. Everything is move fast even when that doesn't make sense.

Are you a believer in the Q contents?

Was there a defining a moment that made you believe in it, if you do?

I'm not going read drops or maps, I'm not even sure what that means and don't plan to spend my weekend figuring that out, there's only so much time and we have to pick and choose ya know, so if you could expand, please do.
