I wonder how long it will take for someone to get rich enough to be able to send their own private interstellar space missions. America's super wealthy are getting very rich. At this rate we will have multiple people with a trillion dollars by the end of the century. What is stopping someone from building and launching interstellar probes instead of buying another few super yachts.

My guess is that the average population of car drivers is aging. With age comes worse eyesight and and the ability to see in the dark. So a lot of people are probably more comfortable with having brighter headlights.

My theory as a none scientist is that you need a different part of the brain to think about AI prompts compared to coding yourself. What makes people think that the future advances in AI will continue to be linear instead of falling of and plateau? Don't all breakthrough technologies develop quickly at the start and then fall of in improvements as all the 'easy' improvements have already been made? In my opinion AI and AGI is like the car and the flying car. People saw continous improvements in cars and thought this rate of progress would continue indefinitely. Leading to cars that have the ability to not only drive but fly as well.

I can tell you from personal experience that chatgpt is a game changer in universities and schools. Close to 100% of students use chatgpt to study. I know in our university pretty much everyone that attends exams uses chatgpt to study. Chatgpt is arguably more valuable then Wikipedia and Google for studies.

I think we will get a surprising amount of AI generated content in the future. During the first year of the Urkain invasion there was an enormous amount of AI voiced and scripted video content on YouTube. I think AI content will take over in the easy parts first. And over time take up more and more views.

I remember a Node.js library I worked on completely broke after a Node.js security update disabled a encyption feature. I don't think anyone could come up with a tangible exploit chain but the Node.js maintainers made the breaking change anyway because of the CVE. There was maybe one guy bringing attention to the CVE and 20 or so more people complaining about broken production applications. I wonder at what point people give up on CVE notices and just don't update for security patches when the majority of CVE reports are bogus anyway. I know the Node.js library we work with had about 10 security notices on npm audit. But none of them compromise the libraries security in any way. People still try to remedy them with npm audit fix but that just causes there dependencies to break completely.

I can recommend Tupperware containers. Come in all shapes and sizes and really cheap. If you get one with a glass bowl or transparent plastic you can even look inside without components getting dirty. When mounting to a wall screw your boards onto the inside of the lid and then the lid onto the wall. With this you can access it easily by removing the container from the lid. Only downside is that they can look ugly when in plain sight.
