Oh nice! I've been doing this on the Mac side with BetterDisplay, but on the Windows side I couldn't find an equivalent and have had the awful Dell software installed to do it there. This'll let me dump the Dell software! Thanks!
I gave up on iCloud sync.
After the tenth time iCloud absolutely destroyed my vault’s file layout and scattered copies of my files all over my iCloud Drive, I just gave up and shell out for paid sync now. It’s fine. I don’t mind paying for things I get actual value from.
Don't put your API keys as parameters in your URL. Great way to have them land in server logs, your shell history, etc. You're trusting no one with decryption capabilities is doing logging and inspection correctly, which you shouldn't.
https://starship.rs/advanced-config/#transientprompt-in-powe...
Starship only supports this in PowerShell for whatever reason.
Edit: Doh. I see what you linked to now. Yea, maybe it does work in more than just PowerShell now?
Transient prompt basically removes your prompt decorations and replaces it with just `>` in your scroll back history in your shell sessions. In my case it's a slightly more complex transient prompt (datetime and exit code of the command), but still greatly simplified.
Makes cut-and-paste of history in to docs and stuff super nice.
Whoa. Who at Google thought providing this as an example of how to test your API key was a good idea?
This is shown at the top of the screen in https://aistudio.google.com/apikey as the suggested quick start for testing your API key out.
Not a great look. I let our GCloud TAM know. But still.
That was the same thing that drove me to find an alternative and I also landed on ohmyposh specifically because starship lacked the transient prompt.
A WIP but evolving, it watches your active tmux panes and allows you to work with AI agents who can interact with those panes. For command line folk, this could feel like a pretty good way to bring AI in to your working life.
...and the majority of their internal development systems they used for all their chip design and layout.
Not the OP of this thread, but for our setup the phone is just for the CGM. The pump (Tandem T-Slim) talks directly to the CGM (Dexcom G7) and doesn't need the phone as an interface between them.
The phone just sends the CGM data on to the cloud so we can see his numbers any time.
I also have a NightScout setup that's downloading his CGM data and saving it for us. It's not strictly necessary for anything we're doing, but I like the saved data and it's was useful for working with his Endo when they hadn't yet bought a Dexcom clinic license.
We also use an iPhone SE for our T1 teenager. One drowned in the ocean a few years back, but other than that they've been pretty robust and reliable for us. We do Otter Box them with a screen protector.
Github is rate limiting viewing that right now. :D
I appreciate his efforts, but tmux from my cold, dead hands. kitty is nice and fast, but tmux is in my blood (and on remote servers where kitty isn't).
I'm kitty + tmux and have been for a while now. What kind of problems were you encountering?
He has to do something big to take all the attention off the other stuff he's doing. The not so good stuff.
Oh yea, I agree. It's a twist, but not a get-out-of-corruption-free card.
https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/23-108_8n5a.pdf is I believe what they're referencing. And it definitely muddied the water.
Having started out my tech career as an intern in an industrial laser lab, this story is parts amusing and horrifying. Brought back a lot of memories of all the ablation tests and via drilling I used to do, with varying degrees of success, to help sell this massive lasers.

Is quite popular.
Took me a scroll as well to sort this out.
Looks like they’re producing low-CVE images for use in environments where being very on top of CVE squashing is super important
Another annoying thing is that the billing dashboards do not map clearly to what's on the pricing pages / in the contract. Good luck figuring out the extras for RUM when you have multiple orgs.
I, quite literally, was griping to my Datadog CSM about this exact thing last week. They'll email me and be, "Oh, you know you're logging volume this month put you into on-demand indexing rates, right?" and my answer is always, "No, because your monitoring platform makes it nearly impossible for me to monitor it correctly."
You can't reference your contracted volume rates when building monitors out and the units for the metrics you need to watch don't match the units you contract with them on the SKU.
Maddening.
I love-hate it. Work pays for it. And I feel guilty work spends money on it. But I love it so much more than Gmail's native interface.
What does this mean?
I think it means its focused on hands-on-keyboard interaction with your email. Everything is acceessible via keyboard shortcuts and there's no need to reach for your mouse with Superhuman.
We regained dashboard access around 5:15 pm ET.
But you have setup SMS 2FA enabled
No. I did not. Nor do I now.
I had a TOTP setup in 1Password and Mongo was telling me MFA _wasn't_ set up and sending me through the MFA setup flow again.
All options, SMS included, were failing in that MFA setup flow they pushed me in to.
They're back now and my existing TOTP token is generating one time use passwords that work now.
You really aren't following along closely enough: all other options were failing for me.
On our side, Okta is saying the auth is good.
I'm trying my personal account as well and it's telling me MFA isn't set up (it is) and it's making me go through the MFA setup flow again. All attempts to setup another 2FA code in 1Password or to get even an SMS code sent to my phone are failing.
Edit: Personal account with a TOTP 2FA is working again now as well.
This is feeling worse than they're letting on to.
We are completely locked out of our Atlas account and the support portal right now. We Okta-auth with Mongo and all attempts to auth right now are failing with "The request contained invalid data." displayed on their login screen.
Of course, the support portal requires you to auth to use it...to get help with auth failing.
Anyone else seeing issues getting in to their dashboard?
Edit: Auth started working for us and dashboard access became available for us around 5:15 pm ET.
Marqeta would work for this scenario: https://marqeta.com/ —- that’s exactly the kind of scenario they exist to handle.
