This is wonderful. We will be using/hosting some of these datasets on Tuva (tuvalabs.com) for educators and learners in K-12, Higher-Ed, and beyond.

Have yet to go through Evan's post, but as you point out, the equations might be the most accessible way to truly comprehend relationships between 4 or more variables.

However, libraries like Tangle are powerful tools to visualize and understand relationships between 2-3 variables.

i have been using a variety of extensions (bitly, etc.) for awhile now and have never had an issue like this before. I can log into fb, but nothing shows up on the initial page.

Feynman clearly mentions in "Surely You are Joking..." that he got turned down from Columbia for his undergraduate degree due to Jewish quotas that existed among universities at that time. So yes, it certainly mattered in America in the 1940s.

IMO two aspects you must look at carefully are: the startup company, and the team. You obviously joined a startup because you believed in the founders, and what they are building. Does that still hold true? What kind of advisors and investors does your current company have on board, vs. what kind of advisors and investors are behind the other companies?

Also, more importantly, do you like working with you current team? Are you learning from them, and do you folks get along well? Not all teams are built the same, and there is a chance that you might not gel so well with team at your new company.

Also, in the long run, equity stake > base salary, for obvious reasons. If you truly believe in the company and want to work hard to make it grow or towards an exit, your additional equity stake could make all the difference. The way valuations are going these days, they will change pretty quickly.

As another chapter closes on the Arab Spring, BBC is bringing to us brilliant coverage of events on ground through the power of technology combined with real guts and determination of the news reporters.

I am newbie when it comes to development, and I had the same choice between developing my product on RoR or Django. I chose Django, and between the tutorial, docs, and the google mailing list, I think there is a pretty good community out there.

A book would be nice, but there are some good apps on registraton, profile, etc. available on GitHub or BitBucket out there. Granted, it might not be plug and play like in the case of RoR, but I have found it to be alright so far.
