Why not focus on the actual gun problem, handguns, and not histrionics about ghost guns and SBRs?

You need a relay unless you want to have all the same NxM scaling problems as Mastodon.
You can have your own AppView and Firehose. They're just relatively expensive to run versus a PDS.
Mostly because having a big centralized firehose relay is less decentralized than people want to admit.
have you considered that you're just progressively lowering your threshold for discomfort?
Like the levees surrounding a lagoon of pig shit in the South breaking and flooding the nearby community.
It's less used but the @ is the atproto logo. I default to saying aye-tee instead of at though. It just sounds better.
Serverless is cheap as hell as low volumes. Your tiny VPS can't scale to zero. If you're doing sustained traffic your tiny VPS might win though. The real value in Cloud is turning capex spend into opex spend. You don't have to wait weeks or months to requisition equipment.
sounds like somebody who's never had to park in multiple cities
Is your issue with math in this example the tediousness of the operations or a conceptual lack of understanding of how to solve them?
Nobody cares about your college book report. It's there to prove, or teach you, that you can do the extremely basic task of synthesizing information. Same with math without a calculator. You should have a mental model of basic math. It helps avoid shooting your foot off later. You might never have to do math from first principles again, but you should get over the hump once.
Hopefully you feel about the same way about every bit of vitriol levied towards tech workers.
If you're trying to effect actual change that seems like a great way to harden the people you need to be influencing against you.
Indeed, if you're nice they might take your side. If you're an asshole, that's a lot less likely.
Maybe, you'd be absolutely rolled by fraudsters in the opposite case.
Darn, I'd wished they improved one of the existing Go or Rust implementations.
The AI companies can spare their whining about contempt of business model. They're selling a service.
In defense of SAP, their product really is built to be configurable for every use case under the sun.
I don't think Dario is gonna approve of this one.
Plus, how many of these existing apps were just databases wired up in different ways?
having a shared reality is good actually
an unexplored wilderness that you pour casino chips into (unless you're doing local model stuff yea yea)
eh, rather, a carpenter knows to swing a hammer in a pinch, doing say framing, even if they mostly use a nailgun.
Woah now, did you get Anthropic's permission to use Claude outside of Claude Code?
Cynically, I think they're in a Gmail 2008 era right now.
don't be an asshole
Plus, lots of neurodivergent people are acutely unaware of their own shortcomings and blame everything on those awful neurotypicals.
I do think for the solution of say non-consensual pornography the only solution is incredible violence against people making it.
did you read the article?
I don't know HN was full of neo-confederates.
