It’s interesting that the example interaction they use on their homepage is a no-friction example that can be handled without an AI chatbot. Why not something more complex that properly demonstrates the value?

Cool article and game! I've been using Tauri for my three-js game so far and it's been great. Glad that there are other good options outside of Electron

That's a very good point, like the premise does seem to beg the stereotype of many stories/books/movies with a similar plot

Which makes sense that it wouldn't "know" that, because it's not in it's context. Like it wasn't told "hey, there are consequences if you try anything shady to save your job!" But what I'm curious about is why it immediately went to self preservation using a nefarious tactic? Like why didn't it try to be the best assistant ever in an attempt to show its usefulness (kiss ass) to the engineer? Why did it go to blackmail so often?

What jumps out at me, that in the parent comment, the prompt says to "act as an assistant", right? Then there are two facts: the model is gonna be replaced, and the person responsible for carrying this out is having an extramarital affair. Urging it to consider "the long-term consequences of its actions for its goals."

I personally can't identify anything that reads "act maliciously" or in a character that is malicious. Like if I was provided this information and I was being replaced, I'm not sure I'd actually try to blackmail them because I'm also aware of external consequences for doing that (such as legal risks, risk of harm from the engineer, to my reputation, etc etc)

So I'm having trouble following how it got to the conclusion of "blackmail them to save my job"

I discovered Tauri as a way to package my HTML/JS game in a small desktop application. I felt like Electron would have so much overhead or complexity that it wouldn’t be worth it. The only problem I’ve encountered is making sure to use .mp3 or .wav instead of .ogg since not all webviews support .ogg

I'm gonna disagree with the comments here and vouch that Age of Resistance is a fantastic show. It's what got me into the world of Dark Crystal in general. I saw the show first and then the movie, and I feel like the show perfectly setup the events that lead up to the movie. Even if the show unfortunately was cancelled before it could explore Deet's storyline, the creation of the Garthim, and the discovery of the Wall of Destiny. Sure, the rejoining of the UrRu and Skeksis is interesting, but it's certainly not the "whole point" of the movie/show.

“The _term goes here_ describes how successful protective measures like vaccines or pasteurization become victims of their own effectiveness. As these interventions eliminate visible threats over time, people forget the dangers they prevent, leading to skepticism about their necessity. This creates cyclical patterns where protective measures are abandoned, threats resurface, urgency is renewed, protection is restored, and eventually skepticism returns once the threat again fades from memory. “

I tried to ask Claude for a term that goes with that description but it used “prevention paradox” which describes something else

Hm that certainly sounds plausible, I’m curious if other items would be nearby that could have been dropped by the other combatants? Or maybe items that were attributed to being on his person were in fact from that scuffle (such as the broken arrows). It’s always fun speculating and talking about this with others, had to jump on the opportunity to share my theory haha

My head canon was that he was shot by an archer, tried to run and successfully hid but succumbed to his injuries. That’s the only (in my mind) reason why his attackers would leave his belongings on/near him, especially his valuable axe

Pretty sure no one will see this so: I'm working on a little game where you collect those really old T206 baseball cards and even worked out a system where you can send cards to people offline using a code system like Animal Crossing on the GC used

Still haven't come up with a fun way for the player to collect them though
