I would add that "extremely sound data engineering" is also necessary to make observability cost-effective. Some of these otel platforms can burn 10%-25% of your cloud budget to show you your logs. That is insane.

If that's the extent of the information required from the agent builder, I agree that an LLM-as-a-judge e2e eval setup is necessary.

In general, a more generic eval setup is needed, with minimal requirements from AI engineers, if we want to move forward from Vibe's reliability engineering practices as a sector.

Just another example of money scaling your way out of a problem. What you don't understand is hard to optimize. Like how you have solved this by acting as an smart router in between that first understands what to optimize and then actually implement that optimization.

My personal opinion is that true engineering, which revolves around turning complex theory into working practice, has seen a decline in grace. Why spend a lot of time trying to master the art of engineering if you can ride the wave of engineering services and get away with it?

In true hacker spirit, I don't think trying to train a model on a wonky GPU is something that needs an ROI for the individual engineer. It's something they do because they yearn to acquire knowledge.

Only thing that is unclear to me is to which extend this setup depends on the package publisher. PyPi might be terrible at least it just works when you want to publish that it leads to more complexity for the ones that are looking to use this piece of free software is not for the maintainer.

Maybe they are only targeting dev tooling companies as a way to simplify how they distribute. Especially in the accelerated compute era.

First of all great book! Second I think the postulation of Taleb is that anti-fragility means you benefit from chaos or uncertainty. I think the relationship this could have with starting a new business is most evident in technology or software development.

Well designed designed code brings the developer optionality. While legacy enterprise software packages gives you stability or yield. It just works and has proven to work for a long time. The turkey that just wakes up every day to get fed. He is not incentivised to change its behaviour. But what if the time change, what if the market changes? The legacy software is rigid hard to change. You cant just implement a paradigm shifting technology cause your design doesn't facilitate it. The startup on the other hand has optionality. It hasn't relied on the same database technology for the last 10 years. It hasn't implemented a certain programming language because it was not hot when they started 20 years ago. They can shift what they are doing and fully gain from the changing wind.

This event has given the startup the edge it might need. Think of NVIDIA vs Intel. Who would have thought GPUs would be important. They just for gamers right? Change by lack of a better word is good. If you are anti-fragile that is.
