Is this yet more proof that Google doesn't understand open source licensing?

If your marketing is mostly online and you're targeting more geeks, then a cool foreign domain is fine.

If you're targeting the masses, and marketing in print, then you need something more obvious which is easy to phonetically speak.

Having said that, I've seen some awful "dot-coms" read out on TV ads and radio ads over the years...

Jesus, downvotes for mentioning Google Wave.

I was specifically responding to this part: >A web where re-sharing of content is limited by the platform, not by the capabilities of your client. A web where you cannot comment on an article unless registering in a corporate namespace (which kicked you out if you happened to choose a name they do not particularly like).

The point was that Google tried it open, it didn't work. Facebook is closed, they tried that. Is it working?

If you employ a 3 slide rule what will happen is people will cram everything onto 3 slides.

The best presentation I ever did followed these steps:

1. Type out everything you want to say. Learn it. It should be easy to learn because you should know your subject.

2. Type out prompts as bullet points for each point your need to get across. Learn them, you should only refer to them if you absolutely need to.

3. Use slides to illustrate your point. You should NEVER be reading directly from or using slides as prompts.

You are the presentation, not the slides.
