You are right, and my comment was fairly speculative. I see it more as a motivational piece though.

I think he means the general field of the startup catered to his skill set, not the entirety of the project.

Also with X amount of founders presumably if one person cannot say design the site, maybe another once can. I would assume not all of his cofounders have exactly the same skill sets, but complimentary ones.

This exchange of opinions is not constructive. Helping people is never wrong. The only objectionable part about this is that it isn't helping everyone, but only a select group.

Helping a select group could build a sense of community, or it could potentially segregate groups of individuals. But it is undeniably beneficial for the individuals that the service is targeting.

If anyone wants to take the initiative to help disadvantaged youth in general I'm sure no one would object.

I personally don't spend a large amount of time thinking about consciousness because I question the practicality. The subject matter is so dense, and like other(s) have stated, philosophers have dedicated their entire lives to pondering the issue.

Frankly it sometimes upsets me when I do put an extensive amount of time into it and don't end up coming up with anything conclusive; it is depressing. There is (obviously) a incredible amount of ambiguity surrounding the subject, and there is something about this particular issue that is unnerving.

On the other hand if you can stomach the subject matter it is very stimulating, unfortunately it does not lead to concrete conclusions.
