Clawdbot finally clicked for me this week. I was renting out an apartment and I had it connect to FB messenger, do the initial screening messages and then schedule times for viewings in my calendar. I was approving it's draft messages but starting giving it some automatic responses as well. Overall it did 9/10 on this task with a couple cases where it got confused. This is just scratching the surface but this was something that was very valuable for me and saved me several hours of time.

The typescript-lsp (and others?) is missing a critical part of LSPs whcih is the diagnostics for real-time errors and warnings. So you still need to run a linter, tsc, etc. to generate those sadly.

Seems like it could be useful for e2e testing of command line applications

Good point, one could measure (est.) years lost rather than lives lost as a way to quantify that.

when doing migrations/conversions I always write a script in dry-run mode first. I exhaustively check the results to make sure they are expected. Then try to do a real conversion/transfer of only the 1st file and make sure that worked. Then do a couple more. Etc. Only then do I feel confident to do the whole thing.

One way to hack stress is to consider that there's some things that happen that are inherently stressful, and then there's the way we perceive or respond to it that can also add to that stress. I have found meditation and reframing the situation to be powerful tools for that.

With sleep, one might not be able to get more hours or sleep, but it's possible to improve the quality of sleep. For example I recently was not sleeping well, was diagnosed with a sleep apnea, and now using a CPAP machine allows the sleep I do get to be better quality. Other things: journal and meditate before bed to calm the mind, stretch/yoga/qigong to relax the body

It’s just a function that returns a promise object. The await keyword triggers the wait and unwrap functionality, but in cases where you don’t care you can just call it as a regular function

As one begins meditation one becomes more aware of their thoughts and feelings. If one has been suppressing "negative" thoughts and feelings those will start to come to the forefront and may seem overwhelming. As a potential solution the article recommends working with a guided meditation either live with a teacher, or a recorded one. This is a great ideas as one develops the capacity to become comfortable with discomfort.

I love deleting unused code

I mean, I get that this looks bad. But they were using a lot of data and they had to switch from a $39 plan to a $99 one. That's still not a lot of money for such a service.

It happened to me. They had to replace the whole top case under warranty because a crumb got into the keyboard. And since I got it back I have been pretty careful but still it seems like one of the keys is starting to go. Thank goodness for AppleCare. Hope Apple fixes this in the next release.

I run my SaaS https://focuster.com on Meteor and I have also built several SaaS projects for clients using Meteor as the base. Some have criticized the scalability of DDP. While out of the box the real-time reactivity won’t scale infinitely, the community has released packages like https://github.com/cult-of-coders/redis-oplog which is a great solution for scaling.

If I had to start over I’d probably still use Meteor but with Apollo as my data layer instead of DDP/pub-sub.

Meteor 1.6 supports Node 8.9.x. What's questionable about Meteor's use of Mongo? Reading the oplog? You don't need to use the reactivity if you don't want it. There is a simple API to either use polling or turn off reactivity altogether if you don't care about it.

Automatic scheduling in your calendar for your to-do list.

This past year we added a ton of new integrations with project management tools as well as support for calendars beyond Google (eg. Apple iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, etc).

It has been a ton of work but very satisfying! Would love to connect with other bootstrapped SaaS founders.

I'm still pretty new to event sourcing but when I looked at Kinesis it seemed less than ideal for ES due to it's finite retention (max 168hrs). How do you get around that?
