This looks great. The decisions feature, and the focus on good async, reminds me of Stride (Atlassian's failed chat product).

Chat is such a social product, even inside a company, as many here have addressed. That said, irc, hipchat, campfire, matrix, slack, zulio, lync, wave, and a hundred others have had their moments of success, and I could see this being on the more successful side.

I'll make the obvious point that these interviews were not good predictors of success at the companies.

In general, I've found in 15 years of interviews that interviews are not highly correlated with the work at any given company. I wish we would move beyond cargo cult interview styles and base interviews (and screening, for that matter) on the actual work and culture of each company.

I don't think the OP was counting on prices to drop; rather, they were waiting for others to be priced out (hence higher supply for them). It's still debatable whether folks will sell in this kind of market, but at least for this buyer higher rates mean less competition on the buyer side.

Dev tools are such an interesting product space. On the one hand, you have a group willing to pay for good tools because they're earning a living using them. On the other hand, it's a population almost uniquely able to and interested in making their own tools.

It's amazing how many of the questions and concerns are the same regarding data longevity and portability, the pain of losing part of that exobrain, and the primacy of digital content in many of our lives.
