Thanks, yes the quality can certainly vary, however have been a subscriber of HN for as long as I can remember and find a great deal of value, but yes, as time goes on most of my feeds/site do you require a bit more effort to find as much quality since so many are shouting these days. I've recently switched RSS readers and that improves for my needs in almost all aspects except with the major one issue of not properly support linkblogs/hn etc. So until that's resolved figure a different feed that has the comments page as the primary link will be a good workaround. Sounds like HNRSS.org maybe the solution. Can't seem to find an HNRSS equivalent to the main /rss feed however. This appears to be the closet https://hnrss.org/?link=comments but where /rss just includes a few of the most popular per day, that HNRSS feed seems to show every single one that hits the front page which wouldn't be ideal for my needs. It looks like you can use points such as https://hnrss.org/frontpage?points=5?link=comments to get closer. Do you know if the main /rss page is based on some point threshold and what number that may be? Or is it based on other metrics beyond points and thus HNRSS won't be able to provide an exact equivalent?

It looks likes hnrss comments supports "points". Do you know what the threshold for the main /rss feed points is? That is, perhaps items only show on that if they are 5 points or higher or something? If so then on hnrss could do something like https://hnrss.org/frontpage?points=5?link=comments. Unless RSS uses other signals other than simply a number of points?
It seems like that /frontpage one shows every single item that appears on the front page, rather than /rss that shows just the top items? Is there a hnrss.org ?comments one specifically for /rss? If so that would be perfect.
Oh I didn't see that. I think that might work! At quick glance it looks like it's showing different results than the normal feed I subscribe to: "news.ycombinator.com/rss". Can you confirm the "/frontpage" is the same feed as "news.ycombinator.com/rss"?
Is that HN top news, or another website aggregator? While I imagine there are a lot of other aggregator sites out their with various rss feed types, this question would be in regards to HN Top News section specifically. Unless that link is for that?
Yes, I love HN in my RSS and find it very useful, but yes, I'm sure that varies for everyone. Dedicated apps for HN, Reddit, etc, certainly offer a better experience for those platforms individually, but for me having everything in one place is much more practical and ideal, and then can use apps/sites for individual sites as needed.
Thank you. At quick glance, in that list I don't see any feed there that is of the standard top HN but have "Comments URL" labeled as just "URL" so will pull into RSS feeds normally? Unless maybe I'm missing something? Eitherway, glad to discover that link as could be helpful for other things in the future.
Ditto yesterday after a few tweets. Assuming this is bug, as others have noted similar even with only two tweets. So one has to assume a bug, or perhaps some other issue where they felt they had to manually temporarily limit the number of tweets drastically to help avoid some larger failure. Ironically, I and most presumably wanted to post about but where unable to because of the nature of the bug.

I asked what the current version of Bootstrap Framework was. It said as of it's cut off date, it was a certain version, that seemed slightly off and I regenerated and this time it gave a number that was higher and thus definetly wrong, I said that is wrong. It said it was sorry and that it was wrong and gave another number, (also wrong), I said wrong again, and again confidently provided a new number. GPT-3 is astonishing, at so much and if you know how to use it, and are asking questions in a genhre you know then when it gives you partially wrong info you'll usually know but will still help you along your way. But if asking in areas you don't know and it gives you a wrong answer such as how long and what temp to cook a chicken etc, if it gives you a wrong answer and you don't know better, could be troubling.
Was excited to see this post thinking maybe it's not just me lately, alas it looks like you have the opposite problem. I've had a Gmail Business email for well over a decade and usually I could count the number of spam emails that went into my inbox every year on one hand, as I make sure not to subscribe to anything and unsubscribe if I do. Past year or so, now get several a month at least which may not sound like a lot, but just things that are obviously spam, or recruitment emails etc. And it's bit annoying since I use third party email clients and I'm told marking as spam in those doesn't do the same as marking in spam in a gmail client, so I have to always then open up gmail.com and mark as spam there. But yes, guess glad don't have the opposite problem as a couple spam is a hassle but a couple real emails not coming through could be a far bigger problem, since many of us have rarely needed to check the spam folder often unless something we are expecting didn't show up.
Love Preview and for all those basics find it much easier than Adobe for rotating, rearranging, deleting, merging, etc. Alas for some things still need Acrobat. For forms that need to be filled in more often than not preview is problematic where the entered text doesn’t appear right or issues with drop-downs etc. Like how I prefer safari but still run into compatibility issues sometimes and need Chrome. Also Adobe is better at compressing file size while retaining quality. And finally if I need to ocr a file and make the text or elements editable need Adobe. Would love to see Preview improved in those areas as solid as Preview it’s not one to see growth in features or compatibility over the decades.

While presumably most meant to be humorous the dog walking was a real struggle. I would use outdoor walk, but the main issue, is when trying to look at my walking progress (getting faster, lower heart rates, longer walks etc), hard to compared apples to oranges since the pace with dog is always different as having to stop or when someone walks by affects things, etc. So wish there was a "solo walk" maybe that is just me and meant for imrpoving performance etc, vs regular walk that could be with dog or with friends etc, which will have various metrics etc.
We went from having one password used on most all sites to having unique random passwords for each site saved in a password manager. But of course those are all accessible then via a single , traditional memorable easy to type ‘single’ password. Yes requires access to one’s devices and helps avoid phishing and all other benefits but just interesting. With passkeys assuming one still uses a password manager to manage the keys (since otherwise if your devices were lost or stolen you’d be screwed) then all your passkeys are stil behind a regular memorable easy to type password and a computer password that is also by nature a memorable password, etc. There are again still lots of benefits for the new method and help avoid the most common issues for people currently so none of this is bad but more good to realize you still have a password in general just one to manage them all.
Grandma is probably more than happy with her familiar experience and rather the iphone son user who loves his iPhone but hates the limitations of having to send SMS essentially with his grandmother. So in this scenarios Tim saying son should by an android would make more sense as he’d be able to learn a new system easily than her presumably or them both having to use a separate less ideal app just to communicate with each other. If they both preferred signal or such they would use it but even in that case the rest of their friends and fam would still be using another app. So just get person an iphone isn’t realistic especially if some have to use one or the other since work pays for phone or such.
Yes, I'd be happy with even just the the extra side button to start workouts and such, since whenever I put on the homescreen it mistakenly gets started when crossing my arms or such and gets pressed. I imagine that may eventually come to the regular models.
Remember will be 60 hours in low power mode, and that seems to only disable things such as always on (which I always disable with hikes as drastically improves battery life and theater mode), and won't auto detect workout, but one can easily just set to hike or what not when starting the workout manually. 60 hours for all the benefits of the watch seems impressive. The 49mm size however will be the bigger issue presumably for most woman and men with small wrists, since the small was already large for that demographic.
Most ladies, and many men like myself have small wrists, so the "small" apple watch is already quite large compared to normal watches for most woman or men with small wrists. The "large" would over hang on many of those people, so you can only imagine how a 49mm would fit for most woman and people with thin wrists.
This is why MFP will be able to get away with charging. There are endless apps out there, includes ones that look better with better features like LifeSum or ones that do the whole kitchen sink which some prefer. But the databases in all of those are smaller and notably much less accurate. If you eat the same thing all the time in general and those are in the database correctly in your app of choice then that's fine, but if you want to go out anywhere or shop anything at your grocery and feel confident it will be there and accurate far more often than any other app that MFP is the clear winner, and others can't grow their database without the userbase. So I think the only ones who will be able to compete are if say Google and or Apple enter the space with their resources to build a large and accurate database in partnerships, and then from their large user base.

A problem with each state doing their own thing, is then the state can take away human rights, and wealthly people can simply move, less privileged people may be unable to. Of course the constitution is suppose to help with that by requiring all states treat everyone equally but of course they couldn't predict everything and states can simply interpret it as they see fit, so the federal government is needed, but how much is anyones guess. I don't see that de-polarizing america, rather just would be more silencing those in the minority of each state.

They mention not wanting to upload to some sketchy site (very under standable), but wanted to note for the average user, Adobe has a free web service for compressing PDFs that works very well. Far better than the compression that comes with Preview or even Adobe Acrobat oddly. When typing "compress pdf" into Google it's the second result that pops up.
Of course they choose to ignore misinformation over Neil Young. It's about who brings in the most money. Now if Taylor Swift, Adele and all the other big celebs follow suit that could pressure things, but think all those big names have too much too lose vs Neil Young, especially over such a devise topic where even if they 'won' and went back on Spotify they'd lose a lot of listeners in the long run and most young celebs aren't going to lay on the sword.
While there maybe a 2K version, I would be very surprised if that were the starting point. Rather like their other products they will offer higher-end versions. There is a lot of tech going into these that will make the base price a bit high since most people we consider this an accessory like a watch that's for fun, rather than something required like a phone or computer. I'm sure Apple will be able to condition people to a higher price point but for it to take off, will need to be low enough that enough people will buy it at the start. 2K no matter what it does would seem too high for an entry price when competitors are $300 even if this is drastically better. Think they'd need a sub 1K version.

I assume they are referring to telegram "secret chats"? Also their own website notes all chats are "encrypted" by default. It's simply that by default they are not "end-to-end" encrypted unless you use secret chats for instance.
In regards to why do people find personal insights into famous (or infamous) people's lives, I would presume that is more common than not, but of course others like yourself presumably find no such interesting in what her daily schedule is or Julia Roberts. As to why it would be relevant, assuming she wrote it, certainly seems to show her a certain type of person that would plan their day down to the minute and put things such as change (clothes), shower, and pretty much everything other than put one foot and from of the other. So if she were to portray herself as someone whose not big into details and thus has no idea what was going on at her company or the details, evidence like this would probably draw a picture of someone who is very much into the details and or other character qualities.
