You're right. I can't edit it now but follow me for more content like this. /s
This is the kind of website that needs to come back! No "cookies bs", ads everywhere, "plz sign up to my mailing list", "share your location", "comment where are you from", "buy my ebook", subscribe, share.
Should be this one https://github.com/simonw/research/blob/main/monty-wasm-pyod...
Don't forget Renault 5!
This is correct.
I suppose this is relevant to a subset of HN audience who attend FOSDEM. Even the talk abstract is worth discussion as it highlights an important side effect of FOSS goals and the current state of the world.
For modern compiler and a more direct approach I recommend https://www.cs.cornell.edu/~asampson/blog/llvm.html
Seems AI re-written or reviewed at least.
I'd say that people take everything as if it was gamified. So the motivation would be just to boast about "raised 1 gazillion security reports in open-source project such as curl, etc. etc.".
AI just make these idiots faster these days, because the only cost for them to is typing "inspect `curl` code base and generate me some security reports".
I'm sure the community will make an inexpensive Pringles version of it.
Apple’s case is really good indeed.
Having a clear software stack that you control plays a key role in this success, right?
Wanting to have the general solution with millions of random off label hardware combinations to support is the challenge.
Retrain engineers as lawyers is clever. Better than repurpose them as subpar managers.
But then there is the software ecosystem issue.
Having a competitive CPU is 1% of the job. Then you need To have a competitive SoC (oh and not infringe IP), so that you can build the software ecosystem, which is the hard bit.
That’s the model when you’re in the IP business - nothing new here.
This is what you use to fund the next generation of said IP. There is no magic.
There is only one correct answer to that prompt.
Sadly the so-called AI experts can't be used as marketing tools to sell shirts and merchandise :)
No, just web stuff, not mobile. That’s sort of 2015 timeline, ancient history now :)
I interviewed with them once. The worst ever interview with incapable rude interviewers, who didn't even know the answer to their questions. They came p with some bizarre offer which I'm glad I declined.
Fair enough, while I agree, in real project life, this calm, honest, factual feedback isn’t always enough for senior management to prioritise your issue.
Sometimes you need to a bit more assertive and blunt so that you become the top of the agenda, that’s what I meant by “throwing punches”.
Perhaps it means a much more over the top attitude in your view? (Happy to be corrected here)
From my experience, you build that non-fluff boundaries in the first one or two meetings with a senior leader.
I’d advise against going in the first one throwing punches.
Go with actionable feedback and be honest about what it is and what is not something you can solve. From there, if you genuinely care about whatever you’re complaning, you are more likely to be taken seriously.
It was a meta-joke, sorry everyone.
People doing important research on Uranus certainly hear a lot of jokes.
Congratulations Francois! Thanks for maintaining Keras for such a long time and overcoming the corporate politics to get it where it is now.
I've been using it since early 2016 and it has been present all my career. It is something I use as the definitive example of how to do things right in the Python ecosystem.
Obviously, all the best wishes for you and your friend in the new venture!!
It's hot-wheels car sized.
This is really cool. Reminds me of the Museo Galileo, in Florence, where they a section dedicated to microscopes.

Honestly, the “Notes” app on Mac has at least the autocomplete now and I find it quite useful.
I’m very sceptical about all these AI announcements but text editing is case where I think this “AI” stuff can actually be used for good.

Right. What am I looking at? It seems clearly a case that it started with the final logo they wanted and finished with 27 pages of pure justification BS.
Yeah, it really whipped the llama’s ass…
