The escalation of AI use in hiring is a stupid zero sum game. Employers are poorly using AI to screen candidates and even do interviews. Job hunters are using AI to mass apply to roles so they have a chance at scale and then using AI to try to pass the interviews. Meaning more people apply than actually want or can do the job, which means employers have to screen even harder. Meanwhile, the roles don't get filled with good candidates, and good candidates hunting for jobs put in real work to apply for a role and fall in the cracks (crevasse).

Separately from the guide, we built an agent readiness standard for developer tools. Basically, aligning to best practices in how agents consume and utilize dev tools. Not cool at all, that's where I keep my favorite fishing spots I've had to bushwhack to find. Everyone please overt your eyes while I go on a screenshot and delete spree.

It may just be me, but I find googles search console surprisingly inaccurate or at least hard to parse. Even the data within it is often conflicting and I'm not sure why the results show as they do. Things like it will show a click through rate for specific pages but have no correlation to the search terms that drove that click, yet show impressions for the page far beyond what it shows for terms. Can't imagine it will be better for something as hard to track as creator tracking cross-platform.

I really connect with this sentiment. As someone who has been around the Internet for a very long time, I miss the normality (instead of the rarity now) of finding random, weird, engaging, and personal little non-monetized corners of the Internet. It's one of my side hopes of the proliferation of AI is a push by many for a more personal and small Internet.

Yeah, that's a great call-out. While I can reckon my way most places, memorizing cross streets isn't my strength. Not having at least decent recency on top of traffic makes it tough.

This looks really solid. It's the thing that would make me switch over. 90% of the time I know exactly where I'm going but need Google Maps to tell me what's unexpectedly in the way while I'm trying to get there.

They are really making a run for it. My understanding is that there was a big push for data center build a few years ago in China but demand didn't rise as expected so there was a lot of unused compute capacity already sitting idle and that's giving these companies super cheap access to readily available compute and they are sure taking advantage of it.

From my work experience, and having gone through my fair share of layoffs, that wasn't surprising at all. It is good to see at least some instances of companies capitalizing on newly released human intelligence in their already trained and onboarded workforce rather than just dumping it into the street.

Woah, while I too am worried about the complete lack of security on these cheap IP webcams, this is a bold move. I do like the world view though, it’s like radio.garden but I’m terrified what I’ll see.
