$3k is enough to live off of in specific circumstances, but I'd have to imagine that most of us would need a bit more than that -- especially those of us with a family

What are you talking about? They're going to be streamed...
No founder would be willing to pitch to the general public. Companies are providing very private information (economics, stats, etc) that should not be made public.
Companies are sharing very private information - disclosing economics, stats, etc - to which only prospective investors would/should have access.
You're improperly editing... both the HN title and the NYT piece say "One of the (start your quote) World's most valuable privately held companies".
Why is thus product focused on startups, and why is this better than angel list?

"It's not just Steph Curry.", Are you out of your mind? If Steph Curry wasn't there they'd still be a good team, but not a team on the brink of winning 73 games.
Are you saying it IS "just" Steph Curry? Even if he's the majority of the reason that they win 73 games, it's very unlikely he'd win 73 with a different supporting cast (i.e. a cast other superstars have).
I agree on a few of your points, but tone it down, man.

Don't fire hydrants solve that problem?
I'd guess that he means relative to other vehicles on the road.
He follows that with "it looks like a modern fire truck." Apart from things like GPS and maybe improved radio communication, I'm curious as to what design and feature improvements have come along, considering those in nearly all other modes of transportation over the same period, and the importance they serve. E.g. do firetrucks really need to be that huge? It seems like a huge disadvantage, especially in cities.
prior to this FB update, I'd argue that the Google+ app was one of the best iOS apps. It's both responsive and intuitive, and they've put mobile first in their mobile UI design, rather than trying to simply mirror the desktop UI.
Thiel's case seems to be around 2 points: college is overpriced, and the diploma is overrated (specifically the B.A., though this is not mentioned in this interview). Wadhwa consistently seems to be missing the point here in his counterarguments; Thiel is not promoting anti-intellectualism, he's simply bringing light to these issues. Because of rising costs, we can't continue to put education on a pedestal; it needs to be treated like any other paid good or investment.
Sure, education is a great indicator for incarceration. But "fixing" education is neither simple nor straightforward.
too little, too late?
