Gemma is their open-source series of models. Gemini is the propertierary ones. Gemini models are bigger and better. But Gemma are pretty good too.

The simpler solution is build a damn lot of solar on Earth and use the energy to suck CO2 out of atmosphere. I did the calculations, it was something like the area of UAE equivalent solar to have enough energy to suck ALL CO2 from the atmosphere.

Thye aren't really competing with GitHub, which is more of consumer tool, but more with the enterprise focused GitLab which bundles CI/CD along with code hosting and bunch of other things.

Their focus is primarilily on Enterprise developer needs and bundling CI/CD, Internal Developer Platforms, Security, Compliance and now code hosting. They want to be the one shop for everything developer experience inside an enterprise.

For me twitter is a great place to learn about new events, there are also bunch of private communities like OnDeck, AGI House Slack and AI Builders Whatsapp group through which I learn about events. If you are plugged in, there are more events than you can be present for.
