No. Unemployed, single, depressed. With job and women life was so simple.

Therapy and antidepressants does not help.

Total apocalipse is not possible (Earth is so large that it's impossible nuke EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE.

But if this is just experiment "what if" those are thing that I would suggest to do:

- Forget about computers and programming and gadgets

- DO NOT STAY IN BUNKER, INSTEAD FIND FRIENDS!

- Focus on FARMING as team

- Scavending for potatoes, grain etc - for seeds!

- FARMING

- FARMING

- FARMING

- FARMING

- FARMING

- HARVEST

- FOOD = LIFE

What you really need is:

- water (well or river)

- water filter (from sand, rocks, and wood ash) for human consumtion.

- fire (easy - a lot of lighters laying around, if not use your glasses!)

- fuck cars and fuel - you are not going anywhere as you need to do FARMING

- CORN, POTATOES, WHEAT production (parts that we dont eat are perfect food for sheeps or goats!)

- SHEEPS, GOATS production (milk and meat!)

- SHELTER: there must be plenty empty houses in this scenario (everyone died!).

- Do forming for few years. Then you grow and grow. You could sell food in futre and rebuild society, maybe as agroculture baron. :)

OPTIONAL: [you dont need electricity as farmer!]

- electricy from solar panels ("borrow" them) or from wind (you can use any electrical engine for it! For example from washing machine :). This stuff is hard but doable.

How do you define happiness in the first place?

By measuring level of dopamines, and other neurotransmitters in brain when person claims to be happy. Easy and precise.

Cython is 20 4 years ago

We had to parse dozeon of 20GB files daily with super complex structure and not in linear structure. With Cython (finally we migrated to Pypy) we gained around 20-60x speedup.

Amen brother! Nothing worse then some JS based APP using 2G/3G in Africa. Its not about speed but latency and packet drops :/ No one optimizes for this stuff. Makes the internet unusable even if you have nice bursts of 100kb-2mb/s sometimes.

Or you could just have your own atomic clock. It is not uncommon, and not complicated as you might think[1].

Other methods for obtaining times are:

- GPS: Satellite receiver for the Global Positioning System

- GNS: Combined GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou satellite receiver (L1 frequency band), can also be used for mobile applications

- GNS-UC: GPS and Galileo Satellite Receiver with Up Converter for Meinberg GPS Antenna/Converter

- PZF: DCF77 correlation receiver for middle europe

- MSF: Long wave receiver for Great Britain

- WWVB: Long wave receiver for the US time signal

- TCR: Time code receiver for IRIG A/B, AFNOR or IEEE1344 codes

- MRS: (GPS, PPS, 10MHz, NTP): Multi Reference Source - several reference source

286 vs. 386SX 5 years ago

Woth to know that NetBSD(up to 4.0 ?) and Linux up to kernel 2.4(?) can work on 386SX with 4 MB of RAM.

It's intresting that for some reason before ~2002 it was possible to run Linux(up to 2.0?) and NetBSD (for sure 1.6.1) at just 2MB of RAM.

For some reason most modern operating systems requires 4MB of ram - even if kernel size is far less (like 700kb), as there is SOMETHING hardcoded in the kernel to prevent boot under 4MB of RAM. I think this could be due the "large memory pages" switch from 4kb to 4MB - but I never found anyone knowledge enough to confirm it :(

Anyone?

Easiest solution to diabetes: Sugar tax.

Wrong. You should BAN High-fructose corn syrup. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-fructose_corn_syrup

It is way more harmful than natural sugar.

It is not banned yet because:

- It is made from corn, and corn is heavily substituted by US government.

- It is super cheap (high volume of corn available)

- It is not only slightly sweet but also prevents spoilage (that's why they add it to US "bread" !)

- It is good anti-oxidizer

- It is good and cheap liaison
