As far as I can tell, the “behavioral interview” is essentially the same as a Scientology intake session except, you know, for capitalism instead. You have to answer the same 8 questions at every interview around “so what would you do if you had a conflict at work?” where the interviewer treats you like a 5 year old learning about people for the first time instead of acknowledging you as a professional with 0.5, 1, 2, 3 decades of experience.
Man, I don't know how many interviews the author has been on the other side of the table for. There are a _lot_ of people with 2 decades of experience who have no idea how to communicate constructively with other humans over the internet. It is not a solved problem.

I am curious how one pops popcorn, shakes a pan, throws the pan, and heats the sides of the pan when eg reducing stock. How do woks work, exactly, on an induction burner? Why does spilling liquids cause the problems I encountered? Why does the bottom of the pans have to be perfectly flat? Some of my cast iron skillets (whoops never mind) are 50 years or more old and are not perfectly flat. They cook fantastic on a gas range. My All-Clad skillets reduce stock while caramalizing above the liquid level, and... the flavor gain is detectable. My only a few years old set of de Buyers "work" on induction but they're not perfectly flat, either. They are ever so slightly concave up in the center. They work fantastic too on a gas burner, but are a disaster on induction.
... we do all of those things on our mid/low-range induction stove? Our primary cookware is random cast iron, the pasta water boils over all the time with no ill effect, we make popcorn, we make stocks, toss things in a pan by lifting it from the surface all the time. I don't know what range you had but something is wrong with it.

we're about to deploy a large, static, non-osm dataset with protomaps to serve up vector tiles. it's been super easy to work with.
Our local library has a "new" section on their website that sorts everything by date acquired. A couple times a year we page through it and request the interesting-looking books!

I'm very curious where you are getting shingles at that price! I was putting together a budget for an outdoor sauna this year, and out here (Michigan) I was getting quotes around $200 per bundle (32 sq ft coverage).

This is a super cool article and all the notes so far are incredibly literal takes on how this can't be immediately commercialized to revolutionize the furniture industry. I love hearing about interesting processes and research like this.
Thanks for this comment! I had tried some bulk imports into SQLite and mostly gave up after hitting similar limits, thinking I was doing something wrong with the configuration.
Anecdotally it seems like the NY AG and CFPB are often pretty responsive. It at least creates a paper trail.
To illustrate the cost savings, every additional 1,000 users that load a map on Google Maps costs 7 USD. An additional million hits to Cloudflare Workers costs fifteen cents.
That's certainly a selling point!
The whole ecosystem of tools is powerful, this tileserver is a great capstone and an interesting commercial model. What is your definition of End Product here? Eg if we have an app and website under one brand is that two end products or one?
How do updates work? Eg with mapbox or google you just get the "latest" data (modulo time it takes them to integrate data), does this hook automatically into the latest source?
Mark Cuban's program is amazing and revolutionary. I'd love to see more transparency about the manufacturers involved. Katherine Eban's 2019 book Bottle of Lies showed that many major non-US generic drug manufacturers are not subject to rigorous testing or inspection, and several conspired to produce ineffective or dangerous medications.
I also learned from that book that generic drugs are not produced by the same process as the brand-name drugs. I thought it was basically an open-sourcing of the drug and it's not that at all. They use the same ingredients, but the generic manufacturers need to reverse-engineer the proprietary manufacturing processes of the big brands, because important details are often deliberately omitted from the patents.
A major thrust of the book is that once off-patent, others can copy a drug -- but the actual process for creating it is not in the patent. The ingredients are, and it's up to the generic manufacturers to create a set of manufacturing steps that result in the same biological impact. An analogy would be getting the ingredients list for a cake, but not the assembly steps.
The manufacturers also need to prove that the impact is the same, but used fabricated evidence to do so. They also operate plants that are not subject to random inspection -- FDA inspections in foreign countries are pre-announced for political and visa reasons, and are under-staffed, leading to additional fraud.
That works great until something in the stack or system config isn't quite right. Moncef's script handles a bunch of the common failure states. I posted it because it saved a colleague a ton of time un-borking a homebrew ruby install earlier today.
How so? At least in my area you can still use the core functionality -- search an address, get directions there -- without logging in. It's been a while since I used it, though.
