Throw away everything you've learned and start over. Pick something and run with it rather than trying to master everything. Write a simple demo app in a few frameworks, decide what works for you, and just go for it.

Why do people do this rather than linking to a screenshot or something? By the time it comes up in my RSS news reader, it is almost always not in the same condition as when the link was posted.

I've been caught in this catch-22 due to my hotmail account getting hacked a while back, but it's not tied to my Windows login -- just everything else to do with Microsoft. I guess I'll actually have to get it squared away soon, because it's taken down my Twitter account (minus one OAuth-authorized app that I can still use) and will soon take down Dreamspark, as well. :( Terrible system! I only ever used my hotmail account for MSN, so I can't answer any of their e-mail-related questions.

Growing very tired of trendy new apps that have no "about" link whatsoever -- just "login" and "sign up". Login and/or sign up for WHAT?!

Edit: I mean, where are the screenshots? Feature lists? Information about WHO is providing the service/app? Et cetera...

I'm wondering the same thing. Also, this is not even close to new. My understanding is that it has been open source and freely available for quite some time.

I am on salary, and therefore, I don't get any added benefit by working more than my 40. There are people in other departments that are blatantly taken advantage of, and wind up working 60+ consistently. I love developing software, and I even do it in my free time, but in my freelance projects, I charge by the hour. I don't do a bunch of extra work for free because I love what I do; I love what I do AND I recognize that it has value for the people I'm doing it for, and I should be compensated accordingly.

I would imagine they'd move to some sort of out-of-band method, where the servers use something akin to WebHooks (or maybe just WebHooks themselves) in order to rotate their ad stock, rather than loading the ad on-the-fly from a 3rd party site upon each visit. This would allow them to maintain an ad network while still serving the content from the same domain as the ad.
