New YC homepage 6 months ago

Visiting HN brings me back when to when I just started my career as a entrepreneur, I look forward to the nostalgic design it has. Have been familiar w/ YC's & HN design since 2008.

New YC page looks great – but it just doesn't feel "yc" to me.

Landing page design very much gives off that it was vibe coded by Claude. It has those unique specifics of all Claude designs.

- SaaS prices will start dropping.

- Current LLMs being seen more and more like commodities

- We'll start see a LOT more companies making their own LLM

- Capital stops pretending everything is fine & we finally see the stock market reflect what's been slowly bubbling up socially (people 'feeling poorer', trust declining, consumption becoming more cynical)

Just tried your product. It's brilliant. 10/10. Super easy to understand – just wish your explainer video actually used the product instead of being those cheap caricature videos :-)

Very common that the children don't wish to run the family business – I always wondered why. Wonder how much things would have turned out differently had the Dad introduced the company to his son at a young age and "groomed" him to be the future leader of the organization.

I wish all blog posts started the way his does: "You’re a busy person so I’ll first jump right to it. Here it is, the fastest general (and simple) binary search C++ implementation:"

Zapier is very easy to use - everything you want to do/learn is in the no-code interface page, no need for reading documentation. This (as a developer myself) seems very complex to use. I have to read each integration's library, and also use Typescript (why not JS or something more popular?), at which point, I may aswell just write code and use an API.

Now you're just debating additional income. However, say your company lost -$10,000. If you profited $10,000 in stocks -- you technically made $0 in profit, which means you still don't need to pay taxes, even on the profit on stocks.

...and if your business is really killing it, and you're also killing it in the stock market, I am certain you won't have a problem paying a few dollars to the US Gov. It's still better than other investment avenues :-)
