It’s not the world we were envisioning, but to the people getting rich off us, this is exactly what they wanted.

Very strange way to look at a company. By definition they are trying to make a profit.

I use an iPhone. I like the experience. It’s not my entire personality. It doesn’t define me.

You seem to want to live in a world where people are defined by their technology purchases because you believe your choices are better and it gives you a weird sense of superiority. It doesn’t, and you should really consider being less angry about it.

Excited to see what they release in the new iPhone, though. I’m sure it’ll be very usable, fleshed out features that I don’t have to deal with constantly to make work. After all, my time is my most valuable asset and it’s well worth the extra $5 or whatever a month for everything to work.

If you are a Motorola (and I assume Android user) why do you care? I get it if you’re an Apple user and you have legitimate critiques, but you’re proclaiming, proudly, that you’re not.

Your comment comes off as envious and a massive waste of time and effort. If you don’t like Apple, what’s the point in wasting your time writing out a response about it? Just move on. Seems like there’s a little bit more to your Apple rant that just “I don’t like how Apple engineers stuff”.

They should really bundle this with YouTube TV. Their offering has gotten weak over the past year — at least for me — and a YT Premium sub for free or heavily discounted would definitely make me more interested in keeping it. Otherwise, I find it too expensive in a world where ad blocking is so easily done.

I don’t think I’m misunderstanding. Since when is an email address used as a legal form of identification? If anyone can use an email address to sign up, OP isn’t liable for that.

They’re best off reporting it and ignoring it. Unless, of course, they used OP’s payment details.

Advocating for an annoying at best, repressive and anti-worker at worst, system doesn’t make you any better than me, and your assumption I think I am some “freedom fighter” for seeing it for what it really is makes you look disingenuous.

Business owners are shirking their responsibility to pay a living wage. They’re also setting up a socioeconomic reality that pits customers against workers to absolve them of that responsibility.

Go ahead and keep advocating for tipping though, I’m sure you’re really making progress.

It’s not mandatory. Culturally, though, it’s expected so people raise a stink about it if you don’t do it.

What gets me is people/businesses that say “if you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out”.

No. If you can’t afford to pay your workers a livable wage without tips, you can’t afford to stay in business.
