Last chapter talks about the concept of ideas or “memes” taking its place.
Ideas that are beneficial for the human may be passed forward and survive. It got me thinking about religion, hell yeah I would tell me children about god if I believed it would save them from eternal suffering.
I feel that the author mistakes intelligence with mental energy.
Even if you are smart you still have to budget your mental energy and one way to do that is to delegate tasks to AI.
Some people might hate writing documentation but love to write code and vice versa.
Delegating things you don’t want to spend time on is ok in my book.
That’s why the analogy “might as well let Claude hump your wife” does not hold, unless you really don’t enjoy that process.

I like the overall message of this since I can deeply relate.
I have been looking for meaningful work since I was 18, started in sales went on to marketing and ended up in engineering as a data scientist.
Even though I feel closer than ever I still feel that I am not where I am suppose to be. One of my biggest problem is having to many options, to many callings. And they constantly keep changing, and perhaps that’s normal.
It’s easy and dangerous to get stuck in the idea or quest of finding the ultimate purpose and try to translate that into actual work.

As a generalist and hard worker I feel your pain. You need to recharge your batteries and stop defining yourself through work. Motivation will slowly come back and statically your next project will be even more likely to succeed.
You can always pivot in the future, success is not a straight line.

Why would a decent C-API fuel its growth? Also can you give me some examples of better languages?
Am no senior developer but I find python very elegant and easy to get started with.

I live in Stockholm, a lot of cyclist and a lot of cars sharing small roads. I do not drive a car nor do I ride a bike. But TBH there is a bigger chance to get hit by a bike than a car here, and that's why I don't like them.
There seems to be a limbo existing that is been taking advantage of by the cyclist here, they are neither a car nor a pedestrian. They seem to switch between "Move am a car" and "Mind me am a pedestrian", making it very hard to actually know what they are doing.
At the same time cyclist (some) don't seem to follow any unwritten nor written rules about speed. They have no problem passing you as a pedestrian 20 km/h often by surprise cause you cant really hear them coming.
