Every single time this is posted, I read it again, and again. And I will, for the next billion years...
With current AI models, this may very well become true
yeah, no. security evaluations cost a ton, and they take time. apple is doing nothing at all, just charging for being in a premium market.
nobody does a free security checkup xD not even apple
Nice article!
But I couldn't help but notice that when `_PyCompile_AstOptimize` fails (<0), then `arena` is never freed. I think this is bug .
Yep, this post is awful in many aspects, throwing rants here and there w/o ever making a point. I have no idea how this got so many upvotes!!.
Well, it's not easy to investigate how poverty affects your whole life history xD It would take an investigator their entire life as well, assuming they started super young. And who wants to pay for such investigation?
It depends entirely on your security requirements, but all in all, in broad definitions, 42 bits is not enough. Maybe if key rotation happens fast enough, faster than expected brute force, then, maybe? Again, all up to definitions and context. Let's not forget that this "passphrase generator" is mostly a joke :D
What a surprise! Who would have thought of that? :pretends to be shocked:
It's pretty cool, but where's the portfolio? :P
I was expecting to find like diff projects represented by things in the game, but couldn't find any.
The idea is rad for sure, so keep on it!
Do note that 42bits is way too low for a secure password. You should be targeting something over 77 bits [0], so you would need to combine 2 passphrases. Sound pretty hard to remember to me :P
Shameless plug: I made a secure* passphrase and password generator in Python [1]

Me 2, we found it one day at the school computer, who knows who put it there xD.
This is amazing!
I don't like the wild use of globals, even if they are "guarded" by locks. And then, oh boy there're locks! But, it surely works, so that's nice. It would be cool to have a small lib that solves this nicely ...
Getting traffic, and getting to know the project, is the value produced by this threads.
You may either be a potential client, or an entrepreneur looking towards tips or inspiration on things to do/how to do them.
I built a gamepad port snes adapter a decade ago, 10/10 would do this :ok_hand:
Indeed, you just start typing and usually 3 letters is enough to click something at the screen. Of course, this depends greatly in the buyer being... honorable, so I can understand if it doesn't work in many places.
Yup, tagging and all the related costs are only reasonable for high-margin/relative high value products, not food
I love self-checkout, honestly. Machines need to improve, but still. There's a store here where u simply DROP all items in the self-checkout basket, and it automatically computes everything! I suspect it uses NFC or similar, but it works, and its wonderful, simply drop everything in! And wait, there's more: did I say drop everything in? I meant, the bag you are using to hold everything? just put it in that basket, insert your CC and it's done. You don't get easier than that... So yes, let's keep self-checkout, and focus on improving it!
Several of those brokers are also tied to the "credit score" (no, not in China...), so removing yourself has some financial consequences for you. they won't make it easy...
This is freakin' nuts!! It should not pass, nor it should have reached such state, it is insane!
"Unbiased"
personalised for you
XD The joke writes itself.
I LOVED THAT GAME!!!
I remember downloading it at the local cyber-coffee, for which I bought 2 boxes of diskettes! The owner saw me trying very hard to split apart the zipped game and told me "do you want me to burn a CD?". That's how I got my first CD game :D
This is pretty cool!! Is this FOSS?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
CSAM is a great excuse for a lot of things, in particular to control free speech. It is a real problem, but this is clearly not working.
You can always use a knife to eat or to kill; everything can be "weaponized", including our own body.
New wars all over the world. Or, better said, new ways to wage wars.
We just can't have nice things, god damn!!
