yep, I'm running a pretty sizeable game Wiki and it's being scraped to hell with very specific urls that pretty much guarantees cache busting. (usually revision ids and diffs)
I'm running a pretty big wiki that serves around 2m unique users on around 45 dollars a month.
It's not really that intensive when you pretty much just serve cached html to 99% of the users.
Final Fantasy 14 had raw SQL queries in it's UI, so handing in a quest basically made you send an UPDATE statement straight to the DB to update your character with the rewards.
That's still going to be an issue though because you can set the same display name?
This doesn't solve anything.
> I'd rather be "TheRealChomp" or "ChompChomp" or something, versus having to give out my name and number.
I dunno, I have a very common English word username on Telegram and Twitter and I can't even count on both of my hands and feet on how much I've been harassed to hand those names over.On discord? same name? never.
Account switching is natively supported yes, but if you join a big discord server with an account that isn't verified with a phone it will eventually be locked.
I'm not sure how many people have multiple phone numbers...
I had to use some shady weird sms service to verify my other account, I tried legit voip services but those were all blocked.
Wow, I pressed this without actually reading your comment, and I feel like I need to put bleach into my eyes now.
There is literally no difference between "modern leftism" or "modern right-wing" in free speech environments, you are just being dishonest.
If you think modern leftism is being mad about people being racist, that says more about you.
The point is they blame it all on the US. Always.
Maybe because historically the US has been behind a lot of things?
Trust is a delicate thing. Once you lose it,
Exactly, people simply do not trust the US in countries where they have meddled in. Rightfully.
Ridiculous to make this into a sob story about people vilifying the US "unfairly".
I'm not sure why you're bothering replying to someone who's misgendering someone in their previous comment?
As someone who has used both, Hetzner felt a bit more customer-friendly overall.
I've caused two issues that was my fault and Hetzner was willing to help out while OVH told me tough luck.
I accidentally picked the wrong option in OVH Cloud and picked the one month up-front option and quickly destroyed the VPS after, it was barely on for 1 minute but that was enough to demand 60 euros for me. Sure, my fault but it should've been obvious that it wasn't intentional.
Morals and ethics somehow related to handing over your virtual money because someone is killing your family if you aren't?
Okay.
Facebook knows your education, where you went, what class you were in, what friends you had at that point, how you look, how you looked 10 years ago, what family members you have, what relationships you have and had, where you work, what establishments you've recently visited, what articles you engaged with more than others on your feed. And a lot of it isn't even voluntary because other people can fill it in for you.
TikTok knows my age, my location and viewing habits, TikTok knows that I stared at clip x more than clip y. TikTok might have figured out my age, gender and my sexuality based on what I watch and can probably figure out more just from what I view but saying it's somehow more than Facebook is inane.
one is literally made to have as much information about you as possible, that's like the core concept of Facebook.
In what world is this even true in the age of Facebook and Google?
TikTok might get engagement and device data but that's about it.
I assume this is the classic case of "China Bad" "USA Good" (or less bad because it's not China)

it would not be acceptable for someone outside it to use it.
Westerners' addiction to air-conditioning for their low tolerance
You're aware that barely anyone in Europe even own AC-units?
The state owns the only alcohol store.
Why did you basically copy-paste this chain of tweets: https://twitter.com/yassineARK/status/1360343382556483587
or are you the same person who authored them? (doubt that)
Huh, Print to PDF has existed in a long time in Firefox.
In the printer list, the option "Print to File" should exist.
Think about how long an SSH server with password enabled and no autoban would last in the open
quite long? unless you're using a bad password I don't really see any risk other than filling logs from password attempts.
This is not helped by Europeans (particularly Germans and Scandinavians) being very reluctant to talk about salary, they are much more tight-lipped than Americans.
Huh, salary is basically public information in most Scandinavian countries..
And this political stance is?
Why wouldn't it be? It's open source but not free software.
It might be a tacky restaurant, but at least it is a restaurant and that's what they were looking for.
Restaurants provide a lot more for the place than a big electronic store that pretends to not be one.
That's a terrible idea. Back when MSN was one of the most common instant messengers, there was a common prank that was called "freezing" where you just continuously kept trying to log into someones account and it would lock itself out for 15mins or more depending how long you kept doing it.
There was automated tools that did this too!
I've used wine forever to play games with, it's actually really good these days.
The difference between the past and now is that it lets you use your current native steam client and still run games through wine, in the past you had to run a separate steam client in each wineprefix and you'd end up with steam installed for each game.
The addition of DXVK makes directx10/11 games really speedy, runs great! World of Warcraft runs better in DXVK in its dx11 mode than what it did with OpenGL when they still offered that.
The "game-breaking" thing is usually DRM like denuvo though.
I don't know of any social media that is male-dominated in the same extent.
Reddit, most likely HN too.
Wild guess, maybe using puppeteer and it's page.screenshot.

If the people who call themselves "Communist"
North Korea confirmed to be a democracy?
Hetzner or OVH in Europe.
