Unless you want to have a childish view of reality you have to agree that if it's done under the law there's not much you can do. Our history is filled with such cases. From all sides of the political spectrum. The proclamation of the republic, the Getulio dictatorship, the military dictatorship, Dilma's impeachment, etc...

I'm not quoting anyone. You can independently check all facts on the links I provided. They're not opinion pieces. They're just facts. There was an attempt to bomb an airport to create chaos. There were people blocking roads and camping on military bases asking for a coup. There was an invasion to the congress and to the SJ building by people asking for a military coup. There are confessions from military generals that Bolsonaro approached them to back his coup attempt. These are all facts available in plain sight for anyone to see.

[1,2] If a lawyer is defending a criminal does that mean he's aiding them or somehow part of their criminal organization? It seems you don't understand how law works. The guy has been a high profile lawyer for decades before he became SJ minister. You want him to be poor?!

[3] Just allegations with no substantiality.

[4] He has an injunction that allows him to "censure" people and media in regards to the 2022 election. It was approved by the whole SJ court.

He's lying. Lula is corrupt? Of course he is. Just as corrupt as anyone that came before and after him. But he's far from being the biggest criminal. He's the first president in BR history to really narrow the gap of social inequality.

That's why the extreme right hates him and persecuted him until he was illegally jailed. He was so popular that they were afraid that he would be able to install a communist government in Brazil.

But Lula is just a populist. He's center left and friends with all big bankers. He's far from a communist. But he's no angel.

Yes. Bolsonaro. The Trump from the Tropics as they call him.

The guy planned a violent coup and failed. He couldn't get the all military branches to back him, just one. There's plenty of evidence and a long list of crimes.

He knows he's going to jail and with him the dreams of the extreme right.

To me all of this sounds like the dying scream of a cornered beast.

I'm all for free speech. But Brazil is not the US. Brazil is a sovereign nation. We have our own laws and our people must trace its own path.

The old government and its pawns tried a violent coup and failed. Now they must pay for the crimes they committed. There's not much more than that.

"in jail for corruption" Can you please explain to our global audience what crime he committed to be jailed for corruption?!

Can you also explain why the judge who sentenced him manipulated the law to judge a case that was completely out of his jurisdiction? Also, that Lula was the number one candidate in pools before he was jailed? And that this same judge went to become a minister of the candidate he helped elect by getting Lula out of the run?

First it would be good to know if you have genetic predisposition. I think mosts comercial DNA tests available test for APOE4 variations.

Second I would read on the research of Dr. Dale Bredesen. He has been studying how to map all the underlying factors that can lead to Alzheimer and how to test/treat markers that are associated with the disease.

According to him Alzheimer's disease is like a roof full of holes. You need to test and treat each individual hole to make sure it's not leaking.

The difference being Wordpress is going down and React still going up. It's still the best business decision today and for the foreseeable future. It won't last forever, but the paradigm shift in UX that JS frameworks created will.

This seems wrong in many different levels. Not only React is getting faster, better, and more simple, but also is still the most adopted and the fastest growing web framework.

The Catholic Church has never stated that the Bible is infallible. That's why the Papal doctrine even exists. They knew very early that the Bible was not only fallible but also contradictory in many points.

Only after Martin Luther is that the idea of "Sola Scriptura" was popularized.

He leaves behind a legacy greater than most intellectuals of his time. He has profoundly touched many lives and I am forever grateful for his existence on this earth. Thank you for all the wisdom Charlie, you will be deeply missed.

It's really insane reading some of these comments. Specially those you know were written by a Brazilian right wing extremist.

Lula's prison was illegal. Is he innocent? Of course not. I don't know a single Brazilian who I could consider "innocent". We learn from a very young age to "dar nosso jeitinho" ("make our own way"). Most that criticize Lula wouldn't even survive a simple "tax evasion" investigation.

Corruption in Brazil began with the first "capitanias". The first colonies. There isn't a single "non-corrupt" government in Brazilian history. Period. If you think there was one, you haven't been reading enough.

Lula was imprisoned after collusion from Judge and Prosecution. There's even a conversation from the judge suggesting prosecutors to forge evidence. Judge that went to be a minister for Bolsonaro after illegally helping him defeat Lula.

All that said, Bolsonaro was one of the worst and most corrupt mandates in BR history. He could have easily been re-elected was not for the fact that he and his supporters are just DUMB. The pandemic was a huge opportunity for him that he blew because that's how stupid they are.

All he need to do was show some empathy. We are Brazilians. Most of us are catholics. We believe in solidarity, in the martyrdom of christ and that the poor and the destitute shall inherit the kingdom of god.

If he only visited some hospitals, cried together with some families, showed his empathy and that he cared for the people, anything could happen economy wise and he would be re-elected.

But he not only didn't show any empathy, but to the contrary, he mocked people suffocating. He did everything in his power to obstruct and disrupt lockdowns. He did everything to postpone vaccine purchases. He said, I kid you not, "What can I do? I'm not a gravedigger." When confronted with the raising number of deaths.

Now contrast that to Lula's speech yesterday. He cried in his FIRST speech when comparing the many long queues to buy luxury cars and private airplanes to the many people in the streets with nothing but discarded BONES to eat.

Bolsonaro is a vile character. But he's only as vile as his supporters. Most of them racists, elitists and deeply uneducated people. The old Brazil that would cherish slavery. That fought against an agrarian reform that hasn't happened to this day. Can you imagine this? A continental country, whose land rights go back to 500 years ago. The same elite, the same freeloaders. For over 5 centuries. Controlling and dictating the future of the country to appease their lazy aristocrat asses.
