I mostly review the AI’s code, fix the plan before it starts, and nudge it in the right direction.

Each new model version needs less nudging — planning, architecture, security, all of it.

There’s an upside.

There’s something addictive about thinking of something and having it materialize within an hour.

I can run faster and farther than I ever could before.

I’ve rediscovered that I just like building things — imagining them and watching them come alive — even if I’m not laying every brick myself anymore.

But the pace is brutal.

My gut tells me this window, where we still get to meaningfully participate in the process, is short.

That part is sad, and I do mourn it quite a bit.

With AI based coding (no, i won't use "Vibe coding", thank you) this workflow improves a lot. Instead of jumping straight into code, I have my engineers write a Notion doc that describes what needs to be built. Think of it like an LLD, but really it’s a prompt for Claude-code. This forces them to think through the problem at a low level, and they share the doc with me before sending it to Claude — so I get to review early in the process. Once we finalize this "LLD" or "low-level-prompt", they hand it to Claude. The next time I see the work is in a GitHub PR. At that point, we rarely have to throw everything away and start from scratch.

The alternative to "ask me clarifying question" is to use Claude's Projects. Upload all your projects' source code there, and ask Claude to do your programming task. OpenAI have recently also added this feature to their offering.

Give Claude a try when code generating, it works much better for my use cases.

The problem with sequential build/release number is that you have to keep it in git (so you could increment), which results in a number of complications and annoyances.

Ouch. If you know Arabic or Hebrew, try selecting those languages and typing something in—it’s hilarious.

Sanctioning individuals who aid a criminal government serves two purposes:

1) it applies pressure on that government and

2) ensures that we don’t indirectly support its crimes.
