Code Climate has been great for explaining tech debt and security to my clients. It shifts the conversation from begging for time to justifying a healthy dose of refactoring.
I had this issue as well. My hacky workaround was to add the version to the Gemfile, bundle update rails, remove the version from Gemfile, then bundle update rails again (to remove the hardcoded version in the lockfile).

I've used similar, standalone services and also built my own, but I'm excited to try Mixpanels' offering because it's already integrated into the tracking.
However, without a grid feed to synchronize to, your grid-tied inverters will be useless. You'd need battery backup and a second set of DC inverters to accomplish the off-grid scenario you're referring to.
This would be a great bash addition for anyone that sshs into servers all day. Just as some people color their console red in production or green for staging, this would be a nice indicator of where you were.
I was shocked to find out that the node package for CentOS is not actively maintained anymore...

Exactly, just came here to say that. Heroku has some serious cash and resources post-Salesforce.com acquisition, seems like they should prioritize redundancy across another provider or whatever datacenter(s) Sfdc are using.
Very cool. Reminds me of Heroku's Data Clip [1] service released as part of their Postgres as a service offering.

Very cool. We've just started implementing OLAP cube type caching using sorted sets in Redis and the speed gains are impressive. Checking this out now.
It's also great for figuring out someone's email address. Open up a new draft and start typing iterations (e.g., first.last@domain.com, first@domain, etc.). You'll know you've reached the right email when a profile pops up.
There was a great discussion about hashing strategies as an alternative to storing all of this contact info. Did any specific code/examples follow?
It'd be great to see a new "best practice" emerge from this discovery. If it's easy to use, everyone building an app will just default to comparing hashes vs. matching phone numbers.
